Home in Need of a Dog!
Pet care experience
I have owned dogs most of my life and spent my adolescence on a small family farm. I love dogsitting and live really near North Portland VCA should there ever be an emergency. If your dog is a good leash walker, they'll get at least two walks per day; otherwise, we'll see how it goes! There is opportunity for backyard play, but I depend on walking to ensure dogs get the movement they need. My home is not air-conditioned, so in August becomes warm for someone with an undercoat. The basement is always cool, though, and a good place to retreat to. There are no pets in my house at this time, so as long as your dog gets along with people, the relationships should be OK! Please let me know if your dog is super boisterous so I can prep the house in advance. No chewers, please.

Beatrix seemed to have had a wonderful time with Lisa! Lisa was very communicative and even helped out providing her own when I forgot to bring the batch I had premade for B's special food addition, saving me time of having to run home when I had to catch a flight. She provided pictures every day and made sure Beatrix was settled when dropping her off at my home and even sent a video. She checked in with me when Beatrix's arthritis was acting up before giving the "as needed" meds. I will definitely use Lisa again!
Awesome. Great communication and my dog seemed quite happy and well cared for throughout her stay. Will definitely look to repeat book with Lisa. Some rover people look to book as many dogs at once as possible and my dog is more a people person so I really appreciated knowing numerous dogs unknown to my dog would NOT be joining throughout the stay. Lisa has a lovely home and neighborhood and Lola got lots of lovely neighborhood walks.
Lisa was kind and capable and asked all the right questions. Her house was tidy and ready for a wandering pup. She saw that my dog was feeling antsy at the start of his visit and took him for a walk to help him calm down a bit. She was easy to schedule with and got back to me quickly in general. I will definitely be booking additional stays with her!
When we first met Lisa we got an excellent first impression. She is very warm and friendly and was great with our big boy Archie! Excellent communication and we loved getting pictures and updates. It was so nice knowing he was so well cared for.

I have a fenced yard and spend lots of time in it during decent weather. It is fun to be in the yard with a dog. Dogs have free rein in the house. I do not crate. If your very big dog is non-reactive, I would love to host your very big dog. 🐶

I would like to know that your dog is able to stay inside calmly when I am not home. Are treats OK? What kind? Allergies? Neuroses? What is the typical exercise routine? Anything quirky I should know about? FULL DISCOSURE before the booking process is complete, please. Please do not set up a situation where I am discovering things about your dog that I could have been told in advance.
A typical day
Typically, I will walk your dog first thing in the morning and in the early evenings. If we can get the schoolyard to ourselves, we can run and play fetch in a wide open space.
