I'll be your fur baby's new buddy!
Pet care experience
Since I was a teenager, I've had the privilege of caring for 5 wonderful cats who deepened that connection (RIP Peppy, Lady, Wally, Buddy and Sassy). So now that I'm an empty nester (who is also a former home and pet owner), I want to continue pouring out some of my caregiving love to new furry friends while helping out my neighbors across the globe. I have loved dogs all my life too but have never owned one. I consider myself a "Dog GodMommy & Auntie" to all my friend's dogs though! So, over the years, I've learned the basics of caring for and walking a dog.
Reviews
Lisa was our house sitter and care giver for our two cats for two plus months from December 2022 through January 2023 and she was wonderful. Caring and attentive to both the house and our pets. She took care to be sure they were fed and that the litter box was clean and that they did not “stay out past their bedtime.” She was respectful of our home and would send us pictures to let us know they were happy and had bonded with her as well. We could not ask for a kinder person to take care of our pets.
Lisa took care of my two cats for several days while I was traveling out of state. She was conscientious and communicative, sending me regular texts and photos to keep me informed. When I returned from my travels, my home was in excellent condition and the cats had been well taken care of. I would trust Lisa to care for my cats and my home again without hesitation.

Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I've had cats of various breeds off and on since I was 16 years old, so I'm very familiar with all aspects of their care - typical foods/feeding schedules, hygiene (ex. proper claw clipping, fur grooming, etc), litter box maintenance, behavior modification (ex. how to manage and prevent reactive pooping/peeing incidents, scratching furniture, etc) and signs of potential illness (ex. overextertion, viruses, lethargy, stomach upset from hair balls, etc.) Over the years, I've learned the basics of caring for a dog (mostly hydration/feeding, walking, Alpha establishment, playtime with/without toys, energy releasing techniques for more active breeds, poop cleanup after walks, etc). All that said, I'm most comfortable caring for mature, small - medium sized dogs with easy temperments with basic command training (ex. sit, stay, wait, catch/fetch, heel). I welcome the opportunity to take care of your furry family members, so you can be worry free while you're working, traveling or attending personal events!! You can trust that I will do all that I can to keep them safe and secure while under my care.
Information Lisa G. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog or cat has any special needs, medications or behaviors I need to be aware of. My preference is for breeds that are hypoallergenic (though that's not a total deal breaker), friendly towards people (especially children), naturally affectionate, and mild to moderately active.
A typical day
I will do my best to stimulate your dog or cat mentally and physically. We’ll play their favorite games, snuggle/cuddle, check out all the new scents and smells in your home or neighborhood, and explore nearby parks or walking trails.

I'm currently a full-time Career Breaker, Occasional Gig Worker and 2023 US Nomad. I'm slow traveling through the country, staying in furnished rentals, AirBnBs, housesitting, or with friends and family (primarily within the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, and Northeast). So, my time is very flexible though my preferred petsitting hours are Friday-Monday, 10am-6pm EST.
