Hi there! I know leaving your beloved fur baby in the hands of a stranger can be totally terrifying! Believe me, I've worked at a doggy daycare, as a pet/house sitter, and a dog walker (and dog snuggler), so I've soothed many worried owners in that time (and been one myself!). That's why I know the value of finding a sitter/walker who has REAL experience and can handle dogs in a variety of situations. I have 3+ years of professional experience taking care of dogs of all sizes and personalities, and 7+ years experience handling dogs as a volunteer and pet owner. Working at a daycare, I'd sometimes be managing a room with as many as 20 dogs at a time! There were hourly physical checks, potty breaks, feeding times, and lots of play time. I also know dog sitting/walking is not just a "fun job" where you can "play with cute dogs". During one of my routine checks at the doggy day care, I spotted the beginnings of an eye disorder called "Cherry eye" in the sweet English bulldog I had been watching. I quickly reported it and he was rushed to the vet just in time with no lasting damage. Caring for another person's dog requires more than someone who just "really loves dogs". It's serious work that requires you to be responsible and knowledgeable with a true passion for animal care. I once spent a solid hour painstakingly scraping excrement off the furry behind of a beautiful pure white Maltese - after I was told to just leave it be and the owners would take care of it. Absolutely not! I would do the same for my own dog, so you can bet I'll do it for yours too. My Services: - Dog Walking - Dog/House Sitting - Drop-in Visits Unfortunately at this time I am unable to offer overnight stays at my apartment as my roommate is allergic to dogs. I hope that this might change in the future. But I am more than happy to drive to your home for visits and overnight stays - as long as you need me! I have a 15 mile max radius listed; HOWEVER, I am willing to drive further for a negotiable increased rate or other exceptions (i.e. overnight house sitting for more than 2 days, etc.).
