CALLING ALL LITTLE DOGS & CRITTERS

Pet care experience

As far back as 4 years old I remember having pets in my life. That's when I got my own first dog. Pet sitting is what I can do to continue to follow my passion and be surrounded by pets. I can share my knowledge, love and experience to ease pet parents mind while offering a safe home environment with lots of TLC. About 10 years ago I started going to clients homes to care for their furry family members and a variety of pets. Seeing a need for a mature dependable person I began boarding pets at my home, doing a small amount of visits to existing clients homes that were nearby. Pretty much any animal, including visits to barns for horses, chickens, goats and a few cows, including a pot belly pig sanctuary. I am dependable, mature, honest and consistant. I treat my clients and their pet the way I would want to be treated and how I treat my own pets . At my home I accept the smaller dogs and pocket pets. Recognizing the majority of my clients are Yorkies, Schnauzers, Doxies, Chihuahuas, Maltese, Shih tzu's and such and their parents concern about big dogs being around their little ones and my own dog being a 5lb Chihuahua I've chosen to keep the littles only. About this sitter: Lisa's Pet Sitting- A lifelong Lutz native, I am a mother of two adult children, grandmother of two grandsons and several granddogs. I love nature, animals and spending time with family. If boarding a senior dog or one where they need more than the usual allergy pill, heartworm meds and such, hospice care or handicapped I add $5 each night to the Rover total. Also, I have a pick up time of 11:00 am, those picked up after 11:00 am will have a doggy daycare fee of $15 for 1st dog, $10 for second. Why I love dog sitting. I love having the dogs around me, they bring happiness everytime I see them, providing a calming effect being the best form of therapy. It is a way to meet awesome people and their pets, sometimes becoming like family and best of friends. Learning about the dogs and their characteristics make it a challenge, what works for one might not work for the next one, encouragment and being patient and offering lots of love, you can slowly see them come around gaining confidence. Meet my pets Mid 2017 I saw a dog on social media needing to be rehomed, a 5lb Chihuahua and he is the color of butter so he affectionately has the name Butter. I knew minimal about him so I got him vetted and neutered. He is a healthy little boy approximately 6 or 7 yrs old and loves most of our guests. About my yard Backyard is small to medium with new vinyl fencing with gates that stay locked. Lots of shade, a combination of trees, grass, mulch, and pavers. An occasional lizard and squirrels in the trees. Dogs are always in my sight and yard is large enough for play and exercise. There is also a screened patio with a ceiling fan and fresh water. Usually some rugs and mats. Dogs are allowed in back as long as I am home, never left out. My experience administering medication I did phlebotomy and provided minor first aid for people leaving me feeling comfortable to take care of animals. I have given lots of meds and insulin injections to dogs and some cats.

This was my first experience with Rover and I'm so happy I went with Lisa for my small chihuahua. She sent daily updates with pictures and I felt like my baby girl was in good hands. Highly recommend for small dogs.

Information Lisa D. would like to know about your pet

Before arranging a 30 minute complimentary meet and greet, I confirm if the dog is spayed/neutered as this is the only dogs I accept. I like to know the breed, health, size and temperament and pets are current on vaccines. During the meet and greet I ask that when you bring your dog for the stay to please have written instructions on feeding, meds, emergency #s, vet info & contacts. I also ask to please write down anything I need to know even if you've told me already on the written instructions. I do not accept bully breeds or might not accept high energy dogs.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks My fenced yard is plenty big enough for running and exercises. There's usually a game of chase or figure eight happening. Dogs bring toys out to play. . There's also a little road along side my home that I occasionally walk the dogs on. I'm afraid of a stray dog coming up on us to go any further. Your dog's sleeping arrangement By day pets can be found lying pretty much anywhere, back of couch, dog beds, blankets, floor, on my lap, patio, yard. At bedtime I have a room with a dutch door (half door) just for the dogs , I call it " the dog room." Some dogs bring crates, their own beds or blankets. I have a few extra of these of my own in case one is needed. This gives the overnight guests a place to settle down and not be disrupted with what ever else is going on in the house. Sometimes they go put themselves to bed. Time I'll spend with your dog I love being at home with the dogs and consider myself a homebody.. Its where I'm most comfortable. However, I drive a school bus part time for the county for benefits, so I leave a few hours in the morning and again in the afternoon. Extra house-sitting services Yes, if there is something that needs to be done while you're gone please discuss it with me. I will bring in mail, water plants, bring packages in from the patio that aren't too heavy. If there's lights, tv or music you want left on, I can alternate these. Bring in paper from driveway.
