Caring for animals is a passion of mine! I especially love pups but I also love cats, pigs, ferrets and many other furry (and not so furry) friends. I’ve owned fish and turtles and I love to watch birds outside! I enjoy being outside hiking, walking and sharing my time with furry friends along side of me. I have volunteered for the ASPCA and Humane Society and raised a terrier and dachshund for 13 years from puppies. Losing my pups was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through and it took myself and my husband over 2 years to grieve their loss and be ready to take in new fur friends. In 2018 we adopted Baylee, a spunky dachshund/terrier mix who spent 10 months in a shelter. Our newest family member, Sunny, an English Lab, was left with us after 10 months of pet sitting when her family decided not to return from overseas. I lived in Knoxville, Tennessee for 3 years after spending most of my adult life in Florida. Finding Knoxville to be such pet passionate city I never thought leaving there I’d come to another city with such a love for animals. After our short stay in Knoxville, my husband was offered a promotion we could not pass up and we have found ourselves in Pittsburgh during a pandemic. Since here, I have been so enlightened to find an abundance of pet-loving, friendly folks on every corner. I am really looking forward to meeting the people of Pittsburgh and the lovely pets you have raised, adopted and trained. I only work part time so your fur kids will get plenty of attention, belly rubs and play time. Between us humans and my own fur kids, they always get loads of attention. My fur visitors get the exact same treatment as my own fur babies. I love them all the same! It’s so scary for some pups to leave their own house to stay somewhere else and I am extremely cognizant of this and go the extra mile to comfort them. After a few days they all come around and become much more comfortable in the home. My little dachshund mix is afraid of Huskies so unfortunately I can’t board them or do doggy day care at our house. I absolutely adore the breed and if I could help in walking them or visiting them at their home, I am very open to that!
