Excellent,experienced pet caregiver

Pet care experience

I’ve had many kinds, sizes and ages of dogs, throughout my life. Currently, we don't have a dog. Rover is giving us a chance to still love on pets, while our hearts heal from the loss of our beloved Ginger who had a long, full life with us. We have a nice 1 acre, wooded lot on the lake with fences on 2 sides creating a country wonderland for supervised, controlled outdoor fun. We are not fully fenced, so all guests will be accompanied and on lines at all times outside. We are an active family that enjoys a good walk and play time. Our youngest son is 21 and would love to help with your furry luvies. We have 2 cats that do very well with our guests. We live close to a dog park if you want them to socialize. Our neighborhood affords nice, quiet walks. We would love to come to your place as well. We can drop in, stay, etc. I’m very organized, conscientious and thorough in my duties and want your pets to be happy and safe at all times. When I’m sitting, I’m there to do the job and do it well. I’m not there to study, etc with just occasionally acknowledging the pets needs. My experience is pretty extensive and my skills are quite good. I’ve worked with professional trainers to learn how to work with dogs effectively. But most important is that I love on them even more than my own. I know they are often sad and stressed when their families leave. So they need all the love and care they can get. And a few extra treats don’t hurt either. Lol. My son sometimes helps to care for and love on pets as he moves forward toward independence after a traumatizing accident 2.5 years ago where he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. He is great with animals. I'm always impressed with how they warm right up to him, as though they can sense that he is an animal lover and they can trust him. We are true pet lovers and look forward to watching your pets. We will treat them as part of our family so you can relax worry-free while you are away. I love to take pictures and send them with frequent updates. I know from experience, when I hired someone to watch my fur babies, the importance of those reassurances for the pet parents. I want my guests and pet parents to all be comfortable and confident of the care and love that we offer each and every one. We can help with dogs, cats, birds, fish, bunnies, rodents, & lizards. I confess, I am not the most comfortable with snakes yet. But am open to meeting some. Lol We are available most days and times. We do have therapy appointments, and will work around those to accommodate your needs so that your pets are always well cared for and safe. We take preventative measures to insure that we don't have issues with parasites (i.e. fleas, ticks, worms, etc) and would like to keep everything safe for all. So we require all pets to be protected with flea/tick preventatives and current on their shots prior to coming to our home. If possible, it would be terrific for this to be the case for your homes too. That part is up to you. But in our home, we do require this to protect both your pets and ours, not to mention all the humans involved as well. :) Thank you for understanding and complying.

Lisa was very professional and provided a nice, relaxing home for my two dogs for the afternoon and evening, while we attended a wedding.

Information Lisa C. would like to know about your pet

We try to make their stay/booking as similar to being with you as possible. So, we like to know their normal daily routines and favorite games. What is unpleasant? Some don't like a belly rub, for example. Knowing this could save a lot of trial and error. :) It's also helpful to know what your pet knows already such as potty training, commands, etc. How are they on leash? How are they with cats, dogs, riding in the car? Do they like to swim? We are pretty flexible on breeds. Some people are uncomfortable with breeds that have a "bad reputation". We used to have a wonderful Chow Chow and I was amazed at the bad rap they have and how that influences people. So, I don't judge a dog just by breed. I let them show me who they are. I also understand that given this tendency for people to prejudge based on breed, that we may need to take extra precautions above and beyond all our normal care and attention to ensure that all goes well and smoothly when we are out for walks, etc.

A typical day

Here at our home, we take daily walks on property or in the neighborhood. We play games in the house like fetch, keep away, tug of war, etc. We do a lot of loving and snuggling time as well. When we are at your home, we try to make them feel just like when you are there. We try to maintain their normal routines as much as possible and keep them active and happy so they don't have any time to miss you. We are there to do the job and do it well. We stay focused on your pets giving them love and attention. We know that animals can be anxious or even depressed when their family is away. So it’s our job to help them through that and find comfort, security, and happiness as they await your return.
