Pet care experience
I am a caring, fun, and reliable dog lover that works from home in Lincoln Park with my two dogs. I studied psychology and communications at the University of Michigan and, though I currently work in healthcare software, my true calling is helping dogs live their best lives. I would love to give your dog the exercise, leadership, and love that every dog deserves! I provide dogs with personalize care, based on principles in dog psychology, to maximize their enjoyment and well-being. During daycare, our entire daily routing is structured around fulfilling the mental and physical needs of every pack member. We begin our day by establishing our pack with a long walk, followed by another pack walk in the afternoon. The rest of the day is filled with regular rotations of playtime and rest time, aimed at releasing energy, socializing with friends, and practicing the calm down. For added entertainment, they all get frozen Kong toys filled with owner-approved treats and kibble. I am happy to reinforce good manners and training on any areas specific by you, such as loose-leash walking, basic commands, and minor behavior modifications. I have lots of experience working with a wide variety of breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. Dogs are my true passion and I've spent most of my life volunteering at rescues and being fascinated by canine psychology. Undeniably nerdy but I've been studying the topic for years and have a whole bookshelf dedicated to non-fiction books about dogs--cognition, behavior, training, and more. I figure the better we understand our dogs, the better lives we can give them.
Reviews
Lindsey is great! She took awesome care of Mia all day and gave her the needed attention for walks and play time. Lindsey is thorough with communications and keeping us up to date on how Mia is doing on the days she is with her.
Lindsey is the dog whisperer!! She is extremely knowledgeable about everything-dog and I feel very confident that my dog, Norman, is well cared for when he is at Lindsey's. Not only does Norman have an absolute blast playing with the other dogs, but he is spoiled with frozen kongs, access to the backyard (and AC), and walks to the lake. Lindsey also provides "pupdates" during the day and a handwritten detailed note upon pick up. And at the end of the day, Norman so tired, he let's me groom him without protest - I dog owners dream!!!
Lindsey was so sweet and conscientious! She took the time to ensure that both my puppy and I felt comfortable with her home and the other pups. Even my 9 week old puppy was happy and not homesick in her care!! We will be returning for another daycare session for sure.
Lindsey provided our puppy, Mia, the perfect environment and care she needed during her first day away from my wife and I. Mia clearly had a great time playing with Lindsey's dogs in her backyard and did not want to leave when it was time to be picked-up. Lindsey was punctual, flexible with timing, and provided me updates throughout the day. We look forward to asking Lindsey to take care of Mia again some day.
