Lindsay's Pet Care

Pet care experience

Hello! My name is Lindsay. I am interested in taking care of your pet. My passion in life has always been animal care. I have a bachelor's degree in animal science and worked as a veterinary technician for more than 8 years. I spent 2 years working at a small animal clinic and I spent 6 1/2 years working at a large Equine hospital. I also spent 6 months at an elite Thoroughbred farm here in central Kentucky. I have owned and cared for my own dogs for almost 30 years. I am a runner, and I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. I have always enjoyed walking or running with my dog, but he is no longer with us. Until I get another pup, I'd love to play with your dogs! If you need your dog walked or cared for, I'm your girl!

I would like to start by saying that if I had the option to not select a star to rate our experience with Lindsay this time, I wouldn’t. I am deeply disappointed in our experience with Lindsay this time. We have trusted her to care for our pets and our home when we are out of town for over two years, and her misconduct this last time has completely obliterated any sense of trust or security we had with her. We went out of town for a 10-day family fishing trip out of the state, and a few months beforehand I asked Lindsay if she would be available to stay at the house and take care of everything, as she has done plenty of times before. She stated she would be available during that time. I made sure to check back with her a couple times over the couple months leading up to our trip that she would still be available, and she confirmed that she would be. Six days into our vacation my husband received a text message from a coworker of his who had driven by the house, asking if my husband was back from our trip. My husband replied that we were still out of the state and was informed by his coworker that there was a man playing his guitar on the front porch. We have always been clear with Lindsay and asked her not to bring anyone else over to the house without clearing it with us first, barring her seven year old son. She had not mentioned at any point before or during our trip that she would be bringing anyone over to the house. We decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and tried to contact her via text and phone call, asking how things had been going that day, to clear up what we hoped had been a misunderstanding or an accidental breakdown in communication. She did not answer phone calls or texts for an hour, so we asked some close friends of ours to drive by the house and see if anything seemed out of place. We were informed that there was a man on our back porch attempting(and failing) to call our dogs(by their names) back into the house. We were further concerned, especially since we were unable to contact Lindsay and we had confirmation now that a man we had never met was in our home without our consent. We then contacted Rover customer service and explained the situation. They tried to contact Lindsay and also were unable to establish communication with her. During our phone call with Rover customer service, our friends had entered our house(with the key we entrust to them) and questioned the man in our home. He informed them that Lindsay was at her house taking care of her son, and that he was staying at the house and taking care of the dogs because she had to take care of her son. This situation was never brought to our knowledge until that time, and we had never met or heard of the man Lindsay had brought into our home. Our friends told us they would stay there and we asked them to remove the stranger from our home immediately. The man informed our friends that he had no vehicle and that he had no phone to call anyone. He asked to use our friends’ phone to call Lindsay to come get him and was also unable to contact her. Our friends told him they would bring him back to her house. During this time we were still on the phone with Rover customer service and had been relaying all this information to them as it had been happening, and they had still been attempting to contact Lindsay. At that point, Lindsay sent a message via the Rover app trying to assure us that everything was going fine with the dogs(as if she had been staying at the house with them all along), and that she had only been over to her house for a little while to spend time with her son and had fallen asleep, contrary to the testimony of the man she had let into our home and the evidence left by him at our home that he had been staying there, unauthorized by us, in her intentional absence. We replied via the Rover app that we had made the situation known to Rover, and that they had cancelled the booking, that our friends had removed her friend from our house and they would be staying there around the clock with our dogs, that her services were no longer required, and that she was not permitted to attempt further entry to the house or step foot onto the property. She replied ‘yes ma’am(spelling corrected)’. Rover then took that as confirmation of her misconduct and failure to provide services agreed upon and issued us a full refund. We deeply appreciate Rover’s role in helping us and remedying the situation to the best of their abilities. However, there are no excuses for the gross misconduct and blatant lack of professionalism and basic respect displayed by Lindsay in this situation. Had she communicated at any point that she wouldn’t be able to or would have or was having difficulty staying at the house and caring for the dogs, we would have understood and found someone else to stay with the dogs. Instead she gave a stranger access to our home, our privacy and security, our dogs who we love like children, not to mention our personal information, which he would’ve had access to, as he would have had to go through our office upstairs quite a bit to find my husbands guitar, which had been put away in a case. We have always done our best to offer Lindsay every amenity we were able to in the past, as she was someone we were under the impression we could trust and count on. Her misconduct has completely destroyed any semblance of the trust, respect and esteem we had for her. For this reason, we are now unable to say whether she may have done this to us or someone else before we found out about this incident, but unfortunately we are considering it to be a high possibility. Due to all of this, we absolutely can not recommend that anyone trust her in the future with the care of their home and/or pets. We hope that she will reconsider her conduct in the future, and that no one else will have to experience the betrayal of trust and feeling that the security and integrity of their home has been violated, as we have been made to feel.

Yet another awesome experience with Lindsay. She always leaves the house in tip top condition, provides daily updates while we’re gone, and makes it easy to relax while we’re gone knowing that the dogs love her and she always takes excellent care of them. She truly goes above and beyond and I would re

Lindsay did great with my large dogs. I received photos and it was obvious my pets had a chance to unwind, and relieve some stress of being alone. All around great experience!

Lindsay did a GREAT job caring for our dogs and cat(who can be a handful due to their size). We were happy knowing we had peace of mind with someone we could trust to be responsible with our dogs, give them the level of care they need, and for one of our dogs to know that she would be able to properly handle her if there were an emergency situation. She also left the house super clean, which we definitely appreciated after so much travel. We will DEFINITELY book her again and would highly recommend her.
