Your Pup is My Priority
Pet care experience
Attentive, loving, professional care for your pet! Thank you for supporting a local pet professional! I love what I do and take pride in providing the best care for you and your furry family. It’s a joy to see that appreciation reflected in my clients. Since Rover increased fees for sitters to 25% I’ve had to take a significant pay cut, so I won’t be able to reduce my rates any more than they are. A bit more about me: My name is Jess; I am 30 years old and have a deep love for animals. I started doing Rover in 2017 with my sister Lindsay in Portland, OR and had wonderful experiences with many different clients and their pets. Since moving to LA, I’ve continued our business here on my own for over two years now. I grew up with a German Shepherd named Maiya and two Golden Retrievers, Annie and Kodi. I have experience with small and big dogs alike (including puppies), as well as cats, guinea pigs, and ferrets. I’ve volunteered with the Northeast Animal Shelter, which included assist with daily feeding, walks, and socialization. I am experienced with lead training and basic socialization for dogs and puppies. A few things that I would like to emphasize about myself: Firstly, I appreciate the level of trust that you are extending to me as a pet care professional and mirror it in my actions as a responsible caregiver; I understand that a pet is a part of your family and do my best to treat them as my own. I adore any and all canines, so that comes naturally for me as well! Secondly, I know that traveling can be stressful and want to make it easier on you. I communicate as much as desired so you can be rest assured that your beloved pet is in safe hands. For house sits, I’m also happy to do any basic home needs while you’re away, such as bringing in the mail or taking out the trash. Thank you for taking the time to read through my profile. I look forward to meeting you and your pup!
Reviews
An excellent experience. Jessica is quite friendly and professional.
Jess was great. She took care of my senior shepherd mix, Bandit, while I was away for a last minute work trip. She provided regular updates, took care of my home while staying over for a few days, and (most importantly) took great care Bandit. I don't like leaving him - especially not that he's almost 16 - but feel a lot more comfortable with Jess taking care of him.
Jessica is wonderful. She's conscientious, communicative, and genuine. We've had her come walk our dog several times now and she is always on time, very responsible, and does a terrific job. 10/10, definitely recommend! :)
Jess was amazing. I highly recommend her! She stayed at my place for two nights and three days to watch my two dogs and cat. She did an initial meet and greet with them, which made me feel comfortable to get to know her and see how she interacted with the animals (she put me at ease). This was my first time using Rover, so I wanted to make sure I found the right person to not only take care of my animals but to also trust someone to stay at my place. While I was gone, she was very responsive and communicative and sent several photo and video updates. Overall, I highly recommend her, and will be using her again! Thanks Jess!

I lived with a roommate who has two huskies. We made sure they got plenty of exercise, affection and playtime (without it huskies are a handful!) I believe a morning and evening walk along with adequate playtime and affection during the day is key to your pup’s wellbeing and peace of mind. Of course, if you have a pre-determined schedule for your pets, I will make sure to align myself with those routines to the best of my ability.

Information Jessica H. would like to know about your pet
How do they react with other dogs and people? Do they struggle with separation anxiety? How long do you typically leave them by themselves for? How much daily activity are they used to?
A typical day
I believe in enriching dog’s lives through activity outside of the house such as walks, hikes, or to the park! I believe it’s good for dog’s socialization and development. Of course, this will need to align with your level of comfort and pet’s individual needs as well.

I incorporate pet care into my daily life and work schedule. I am a freelance graphic designer, which means I have a lot of freedom and flexibility to work around your pet’s schedule. During a stay, I may need to periodically leave the house to go to client meetings, but can spend the majority of the day working remotely from your home. Above all, I ensure your pets are getting the best care and attention they deserve while in my care.
