Not only am I a loving dog owner myself, but I have experience working with 400+ dogs and counting. I’m currently a proud parent of Stella, a Sato (or Puerto Rico street dog), and Zoey, a pit bull/boxer mix. I've also had three cats; Loki, Odin, and Hercules. As a high schooler, I volunteered at Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA. My duties included walking dogs, cleaning their kennels, and of course providing love and attention. Buddy Dog also rescues cats so I also helped by brushing them and cleaning their litter boxes. I now work part time at Yankee Golden Retrieve Rescue in Hudson, MA as a kennel staff member as well as adoption/application staff member. When I’m working in the kennel I feed, walk, and clean up after the dogs. I also regularly administer medications from pills, to eye drops, to ear medications. In the adoption office, I work with people to find their perfect furry family member, but more importantly, I get to know each dog’s personality better and what behavior challenges they need to work on. From extreme resource guarding to leash reactivity and everything in between, I’d like to think I’ve seen it all so I’m no stranger to challenging dogs. While I’m not a licensed dog trainer, I would consider myself highly knowledgeable in most training situations and would be happy to help you or lead you in the right direction if your dog is having trouble with something. Positive reinforcement is the key! Personally, the clicker is my favorite tool! In my years of working with hundreds of dogs (of various sizes and breeds), I’ve never met a dog that it didn’t work for.
