Animal Rescue Experience
Pet care experience
I love animals! I grew up doing animal rescue starting at about age 10. Cared for 15+ animals in my home/boarding house at a time including animals with special needs, meditation and puppies/kittens. Well trained to care for kittens and puppies that need bottle fed, etc. I worked with lost cost spay neuter clinics and non-profit adoption centers for many years. Currently have 3 dogs and 3 cats personally. I support animal rights. I do have some flexibility in my schedule and would be able to glpet sit for established clients. *please note: I do not have professional training as a vet or vet tech. I do have some knowledge in medication, special needs and emergency situations but I am not licensed or trained professionally*

Lindsay Davidson is my daughter and from the age of about 11 she was actively involved in animal rescue. It began with volunteering through her Girl Scout troop, then grew into a full rescue group she and I started named "Recycled Paws." We still have a Pet Finder site, although it is inactive at this time. Lindsay also completed her Silver Award in Girl Scouts with a trap-spay-neuter-release project in a senior apartment community, where the elderly fed the cats and enjoyed their company and the cats could live out their lives comfortably. She and the apartment management assisted with medical needs for these cats. Lindsay's Girl Scout Director over the district she was in wrote her a letter telling her that this was one of the best and most dedicated projects she had ever received. We had 4 feral cat feeding stations in our town that she helped operate for feral cats, many that we trapped and had neutered whenever possible. When we moved, she made arrangements for other cat rescue groups to take them over so the cats would continue to be fed and cared for. Lindsay also opened and closed a rescue center in the mall in Winston-Salem, NC at the age of about 14, and was trusted with all duties of operating the center. She has been involved in many other major rescues including a kitten trapped under a dumster and a dog who had fallen into a 75 ft ravine in a local national park - both with happy endings. Lindsay was instrumental in organizing the successful rescue of the dog and physically rescued the kitten herself. I could go on and one with all the rescue stories. Lindsay gave up weekends as a teen to work in the local PetSmart and Pet Supplies Plus stores at their adoption fairs, and over the years has participated in or organized too many things to list. I could not be more proud of my daughter and her maturity, dedication and love of animals. We had 20+ cats and 3 dogs at one time in our rescue and she handled or assisted in the daily feeding and care for all of them. She has had many pets of her own who are cared for as members of her family and lived very long lives. I would trust her to provide the best care for any animal in her care that she is responsible for, and to act quickly, calmly and with knowledge of what to do in any situation that might arise. I hope this has been of some help in determining her qualifications for joining your organization. Thank you, Jennifer Davidson
