R+ dog training enthusiast w/ yard

Pet care experience

📌 ◆ 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦 ◆ (Updated 01.31.24) I am currently only accepting boarding requests from repeat clients ideally no more than 2 months in advance. :) Christmas availability is to be determined so I have blocked off my calendar for that month. I highly recommend that boarding requests longer than 5 days be made at least 2-3 months in advance to secure availability, especially around the holidays! At my discretion, new clients may be asked to complete a trial daycare/overnight assessment to ensure your pet is a good fit for my home. ◆ 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗖 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 ◆ I accept small/medium (<35 lb) dogs over the age of 1 that are up to date on vaccines, fully housebroken, and are crate-trained (or comfortable with being in an xpen). Your dog should be non-aggressive towards dogs and cats. All new clients must fill out my intake questionnaire before I confirm a booking to ensure your pet is a good fit for my home. :) ✏️ ▹ Questionnaire: bit.ly/3aE1HBD

My dog Kabu had a great time at Lindsay’s! Kabu is a sensitive Shiba Inu and usually had hard time adapting to new environment, but we can tell he had zero issue at Lindsay’s. He had so much fun staying there and playing with Kohaku. This is the most stress-free trip we had while Kabu is boarding somewhere. Kabu looked so happy and had great appetite there. Lindsay sent regular updates throughout the days with photos and videos. I will for sure board Kabu at Lindsay’s again for future trips and recommend her to our friends.

My household consists of my 4 year old Shiba Inu Kohaku (nicknamed Koko), my fiance Roy, and our 12 year old cat Audrey. Dog sports are one of my biggest hobbies and something I am very passionate about. I always strive to educate myself when it comes to dogs. When we're not out hiking and exploring, Kohaku and I train together.

A typical day

◆ BOARDING - A TYPICAL DAY ◆ Unlike a traditional boarding facility, I keep my numbers small so I can effectively manage the group well. This is great for dogs who may otherwise be intimidated or overwhelmed in a kennel environment. I only take dogs under 35 lbs since this is safer for all my canine guests to play and interact with each other. Shy dogs do very well in my home since it is typically quiet and calm. My schedule can be adjusted according to your dog's needs, but generally speaking I start my day at 8-9am and will let the dogs out in the yard to potty and play. Afterwards it's time for a morning walk and then breakfast. There will be beds and toys freely available if all the dogs are comfortable with sharing. For meals, all pets will be separated to prevent any resource guarding over food. Meals can be served in a puzzle toy for mental stimulation if your dog enjoys it! I can provide lickimats, kongs, toppls, and kibble dispensing toys. Once the evening rolls around, it's time for dinner and another walk around the neighborhood. I give everyone a chance to potty in the backyard before it's off to bed! ◆ DAYCARE - A TYPICAL DAY ◆ Drop-off hours are typically from 8-10am, pick-up hours are from 4pm - 7pm. Drop-off/pick-up outside of these windows may incur an additional charge. Toys and water are offered at all times; you may provide your pup's food/treats if desired. There is full access to the grassy backyard to run and play to their heart's content! ◆ EXTRAS ◆ PICKUP/DROPOFF SERVICE - I offer pickup and dropoff for an additional fee for boarding clients in the following cities: San Jose, Campbell, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Mountain View, and Milpitas. List is subject to change at any time. Dogs must be comfortable riding in a crate or wearing a safety harness - this is for their own safety! Please see my posted rates on Rover. CONSTANT CARE - Not currently offered.

◆ 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗠𝗘 ◆ I have been a dog enthusiast as long as I remember and am committed to providing enriching, fun, and safe experiences to your furry friends! I'm a strong proponent of force-free, science-based, reward-based dog training. I used to volunteer at the SPCA in Dublin and have raised and trained three puppies to adulthood. My Shiba is my most recent dog, the first dog I've raised with the Puppy Culture program. He has an AKC Trick Dog Novice title under his belt with more to come! We are currently training in nosework and agility. ▹ Kohaku's Instagram: @kohaku.journals ▹ Trick Dog Novice video: youtu.be/yCu5-_vrThU ▹ Having fun at agility class: youtu.be/w2Vob8Y0RJw Dogs new to me are kept in an x-pen/separate room/crate for safety if I am not home, but the vast majority of my regular pups have free roam in the home once they've been proven trustworthy!
