Why I love dog sitting Our most extensive periods with dogs began when our neighbor brought home her 2 month old border collie. As she and her husband traveled often, we had the little collie with us extensively during her puppy and young adult years, and have a very special relationship with her and her family. Since beginning our house and pet care, we've had the opportunity to spend extended periods of time with any number of breeds, including Havanese, sheep dog, standard poodle, retrievers, Pomeranian, even a pit bull!
