Fear Free Certified Professional

Pet care experience

The GOLD Standard of Professional Pet Care! If you are looking for a professional who has certified training to care for pets in your home then you are looking for me as a service provider and I am looking for you as a client. I'm different! My profile on Rover not only states my credentials but shows them as well, and many of these certifications you can verify on third party websites. Why do I go through all the effort to be transparent? Because anyone can click any number of credentials when they put a post a profile on the Rover platform. Are the credentials really ones they earned? Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. As a consumer you need to verify all credentials yourself to be sure. Why do I want you to know my credentials? Because pet care is an industry profession with standards and ethics and I take your pet's safety seriously. Pet care and training aren't "gigs" for me. They are my full-time career. With 18 plus years of ongoing CAREER PAID pet care experience with other people's pets (not just the decades with my own pets) I have worked diligently to acquire the skills that will benefit you and your pets. I am one of only two industry trained and Certified Professional Pet Sitters® in Pickens County (that I know of). My continuing education credits include the science and methodology study of positive rewards based dog training, canine body language, pet enrichment, pet first aid and CPR, specialized Fear Free® and Low Stress Handling® techniques, as well as other courses designed to keep your pets safe, happy, and secure in your home. And as a professional I know that you would be liable if someone was bitten by your pet so I do NOT bring or allow children or other people to interact with your pet while in my care. * * * IMPORTANT: In signing a Code of Ethics in my memberships in certain industry organizations I have agreed NOT to work with choke, prong, or shock collars. If you use these tools unfortunately I can not care for your dog. * * * Attention to detail in your pet, their living spaces, and your home as well as honesty in years of PAID pet care experience carries over into my services. I see your pets with their own individual and species specific needs and wants, not just another breed type or fuzzy animal you are going to pay me to play with at your house. I am attentive to your pet's surroundings and what your pet is communicating so that I can be proactive in handling any issues that might arise during your time away. For example leash reactivity is often something that I work on when taking dogs out for a walk. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 🐾🐾 🐾🐾🐾

Linda did an outstanding job! Our kitten Missy absolutely loved her visits. They played games and had fun, along with getting the essentials taken care of. She treated our kitten with great attention and love and our home with the utmost respect. We trust Linda for all aspects of caring for our pets and highly recommend her.

Linda is meticulous with the care she provides. I highly recommend her. I know my pets are being cared for and I don't worry about them, I miss them, but I don't worry about them. She is very compassionate and highly qualified.

Information Linda R. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed restrictions when caring for dogs. To be proactive in keeping me and your pet safe I will gather information from you about your dogs and his/her habits, reactiveness to dogs/people/environment, as well as any previous training, and health issues. I will assess your dog's temperament and energy level so I have an idea of how they might behave when you are not with them. A Professional Consultation (Meet and Greet) 48 hours before services start is a REQUIRED prerequisite to scheduling. Many dogs will react differently with a caregiver when you are there with them. Requests for service for reactive dogs or those who are resource guarders will be accepted or not on a case by case basis based on behavior at the Meet and Greet consultation. If the request is accepted these visits will be scheduled for no less than 60-minute visits.

A typical day

Walks and general enrichment are in the neighborhood that your dog is familiar with. The length and speed of the walk are based on your pet's age, health, and energy level, as well as the temperature outside. My goal is to develop a relationship with you so that we can work on a pet care plan together. This will give your pets the stability they need to feel comfortable while you are away. And to help you rest easier, you have the security of knowing that I will NOT have children with me that will be playing with your dog while you are gone, nor will I permit other children to pet your dog under my watch. Unknown children around your dog could lead to disaster. Children just don't know enough about canine body language to know when a dog wants to be left alone. I will not put your dog in a situation where they may feel trapped by the hugs of people he (or she) doesn't know. As a trained and multi-Certified Pet Care Professional, I promise to care for and protect your pets with all the love, dedication, and skill that I have. In short, I believe that all stages of life deserve quality care and support. To be there for your pets from 8 weeks to 18 years is an honor. My pet care services respect each stage of life with an appropriate care plan that reduces the fear, anxiety, and stress that can appear when pet owners depart, if even for a short period of time. As a bonus, you'll feel secure in seeing the relationship I am developing with your pets through the photographs I send you. They will definitely show more than the back of your dog and the leash as we walk. If you are looking for safe, qualified, professional pet care then contact me today! I would love to meet your pets and learn more about your pet care needs.

Availability

This is my full-time career and my schedule is set up for full-time availability on a first come - first served basis. I am prepared to bring real world experience, pet industry education, and safety tools to the job! Career time spent with other people's special needs pets (not just my own) is invaluable. If you have a reactive dog, geriatric pet, or very young pet in your home, the Rover independent contractor who labels their profile as "dog lover" and whose listed "years of experience" includes their elementary school years (basically admitting in their profile that they've cared for their own pets so they know how to care for yours) may not be the best fit for your family. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 🐾🐾 🐾🐾🐾
