GOOD CANINE-48+ YRS BEHAVIOR TRNG

Pet care experience

We are currently receiving more requests than we can provide. Please make sure to schedule your stay at least 2-4 weeks in advance to secure your spot. I am so sorry if we could not accommodate you and hope you will come back to see us again. We are OPEN for new and past clients. Hopefully you are all doing well under the circumstances. We miss having new clients visit us, however we will not be allowing tours at this time due to Covid-19. Please refer to our pictures and over 300 reviews. We pride ourselves as being one of the largest and BEST ROVER sitters possible. I have been in the dog business and a Behavior Trainer for over 46+ years. We are experienced in the care of dogs and our lives revolve around them. If you should have any questions, please feel comfortable in asking. Our home is safe and lots of fun for your dogs to visit and make it their private getaway from home. Dogs love staying with us and you will see it more when they come back. They can't wait to get out of the car. Please be reminded that you must be up to date on all shots required by Texas and must bring an updated copy which we will keep on file. Flea and tick preventative is required. Can’t wait to meet you. We have been raising, showing, training and boarding dogs for over 48+ yrs. Our world revolves around them. The dogs will always come first. TY Taking care of your dogs is our first priority. They get plenty of time out and in the play yards and nice cool naps. TY Dogs are crated during the night and on and off during the day. They are fed and watered in their crates so they do not share community waters. They go out multiple times during the day and night as weather permits. We have a very safe home for your dogs to stay and they will have lots of fun with us or if a custom to other dogs they will enjoy play times with other dogs appropriate to them.

Over all, I won’t be bringing my dogs back here again. First meeting; she spoke over me after asking me a questions, said you way of training “didn’t make sense” (I touch the persons hand or leash with it in their hand to show my dogs they are ok. Just makes it easier and calms them down instantly which I showed her as she move them from the truck to pen. 2 way communication with the pups). Ok… she has been doing this a lot longer and said what works for her works but what has worked for us, works. We talked about the youngest of 3 and I explained we just adopted him 1 1/2 months ago so his training isn’t as good as our 4 and 6 yrs old. I asked/ reminded I would like pictures everyday and we talked about feeding schedules. All pretty normal except her dismissive attitude in what came off as condescending. “Arrogance can come with experience at times, let it go” is what I told myself and moved on. She put them in the small pen with a bush or Crepe Myrtle in the middle with a 1 1/2 ft of walking space at its diameter. She said that was just temporary and she rotates all the dogs in there for short amounts of time. We bullet pointed their needs, pictures, communication and said our good- byes. While on our drive, I asked multiple times for pictures and it was “I’m too busy, I don’t take my phone out with the dogs”. I asked again and received a picture 22 hrs later. They looked unhappy but we just dropped them off a day ago. I asked again to be sent pictures every day and didn’t receive anymore. We were communicative about our flight and traffic/ delayed arrival. After telling her we’d be there at 730pm 3 separate times she explained the dogs shouldn’t be outside for 20 more minutes but she moved them to the shade. My husband took care of the talking when we got there and my dogs were choking themselves to get to us. I grabbed and loaded them and grab their things and left. They were filthy, wreaking of excrement, discolored large eye boogers with inflamed red eyes and bad/exhausted attitudes. To Linda, I was very dissatisfied with your professionalism and understanding. You said you would be able to stay in communication and you were a constant stressor. My dogs reeked of excrement, dirt and their all over behavior was down trodden. My youngest is back to square one and my oldest is acting like she just came out of the environment we rescued her out of which was the streets, neglect and physically harmful to her. Chewbacca wouldn't even engage in fetch last night because he was exhausted, touched out and upset which is not him EVER. He's a labor doodle and his resilience is unrivaled. When I first got there you spoke over me after asking me a question, acted condescending and was unwilling to see things from your customers side. You were dismissive and agitated for some reason. Yet for another reason you showed my husband more respect and politeness that was like whiplash in comparison to how you treated me. Your arrogance, unprofessionalism and over all lack of compassion towards people and my dogs will be your downfall. You do not deserve a tip barely even the car payment it cost to host my 3 at that hell haven you call your home. Thank you for not killing them or letting them run away. You get the bare minimum reward for your bare minimum care.

Wonderful experience with Lindas! I needed to leave town unexpectedly and with very short notice Linda agreed to board my Brownie. Very patient with both me and my dog, lol! Extended stay with no problem and very good with my dog. I will gladly use again with confidence and know my dog is well taken care of! Thank you!

How well your dog interacts with other dogs. In 48+ years we have never had a dog fight break out while boarding dogs. This is due to our knowledge of breeds and levels of excitement. Being a behavior trainer allows me to know a dogs body language ahead of them. What you might think as an owner, might be exactly opposite of what your dog is really feeling. We can help you understand while your dog stays with us. DROP OFF AND PICK UP TIMES: Our times are 10am unless personally scheduled (not through Rover). At this time we are not available any earlier than 10am. A late work schedule does not allow us to be up early enough to get all the dogs out for their morning activity and tidy up and get ready for new dogs to come in before 10am. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we do allow you to come the night before or most clients once they know, just schedule a later flight or actually love dropping off the night before. Makes the transition of getting to the airport much easier.

A typical day

We spend quite a bit of time with them outside playing with the toys. Weather permitting, we have small wading pools that the dogs can enjoy. All dogs sleep in their own comfortable crates at night with fresh clean beds if acceptable (dogs that chew do not receive one). Dogs are fed and watered in their own crates. We do not share community waters because we are well aware of periodontal disease in dogs and this can spread, so we are safe in only allowing private waters for each dog and they are wash and sanitized every day along with their bowls and their beds. Dogs get lots of time out to play with each other and interact with us. It is up to your dogs behavior on who and how many other dogs they get to visit with. Sometimes we only have one or two for them to play with and other times we can have 5-7. We are very well educated on what dogs will play well together. There is always someone watching and interacting with them. They are never left out alone.
