Loving Animal Companion/Walker
Pet care experience
My name is Linda. I'm new to Rover but not new to caring for animals. Having shared my life with dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters, gerbils, squirrels, snakes, lizards, and even a horse or two and being the "go to" person for fur babies of family and friends for years, I am so happy to be in a life phase where my full-time attention is on animal care. I am experienced with the tiniest of breeds to the largest. I prefer to work with small to medium-sized breeds, but kind and gentle giants are always welcome. I offer pet sitting at my home, walking, and drop-in services at your home. I am skilled at medication administration and caring for special needs pets too. I like to send updates and photos and am always available by phone. Your pet is my first priority when I am with them and will follow your instructions closely. Your animals "do's and don'ts" are key to their comfort and important for me to know. Their daily routine is critical (feeding times, walk schedules, what happens if they see a squirrel (lol), and how they get along with other animals. As much information as you can share, the better your pet will feel when you are away. I have flexibility for drop-in visits and walks. When house-sitting, I prefer to host at my home and like to limit animals to small to medium pets. No more than 2 pets weekly, prefer from same family, unless both animals get along well with others. I live in a quiet, suburban neighborhood with a large, gated backyard available for runs and playtime as well as community perfect for walks. When house sitting, I am disciplined and follow instructions closely and rarely leave animals for more than 3 hours at a time. Fresh water is always available, and appropriate exercise and play/snuggle time is paramount. I like to treat your pet like it's my own!!
Reviews
Words cannot express how lucky we were to find Linda for our two little ones, Taboo and Danger. As “crazy chihuahua people,” we were so reluctant to ever leave our dogs in a kennel and never thought anyone was good enough to care for our little guys. Well Linda was a true miracle and forever “Aunt Linda” as she seamlessly became a part of the family. Our wildly discerning dogs took to her like a warm blanket. She was so disciplined and organized and followed instructions to the letter. In fact, our dogs seemed offended when she would leave and we didn’t give them as much cuddle time as she always did. She is a genuine, compassionate, and caring lover of people and animals. Your pets will be grateful and you will be settled if hiring Linda to care for your smallest (or largest) fur family members.
I highly recommend Linda as an animal caregiver. Words do not do it just in describing how wonderful she is. Her selflessness and nurturing demeanor ensure only positive interactions with all animals. Peace of mind is everything, and that is exactly what you will obtain should you hire Linda as a animal caregiver. She is not only competent and reliable, but exceeds all expectations. My cane corso and lab absolutely adore her. I am completely satisfied with the care she provides to my dogs, and feel blessed to have her in our lives.
My little boy Danni is a special part of my family. He goes almost everywhere with me but when he can’t he goes to Linda’s or Linda comes to him. I would never entrust just anyone to watch him. He is a tad spoiled and he needs someone who understands that. Linda goes out of her way to make him feel at home and loved no matter where she takes care of him. When I lived in New York she would stay at my house with him. She would walk him and feed him on his demand. She would also pet, feed and make time for my cat, Manny who is also a very demanding, spoiled member of our family as well. I’m an avid gardener and would worry about my flowers but never did I come home to wilting flowers. Linda always went the extra mile and watered my plants as well. Needless to say when I drive up to New York Danni gets to visit and stay with Linda. Danni, Manny and I would never think of using anyone but Linda as our pet sitter. I experience worry free vacations thanks to Miss Linda. We love you and thank you Linda

I believe an animals routine is critical to their happiness. Whether house sitting or caring for your pet in my home, I am dedicated to following your instructions so your pet is comfortable and happy. Active walks, exercise, and playtime are as important as quiet cuddle time. No pet is left alone for more than 3 hours at a time and fresh water is always available.

Information Linda D. would like to know about your pet
As previously mentioned, daily routines are important for animal wellness. A short list of your dogs routine (eating schedule, walk/playtime, rest time, favorite toys/treats) is very helpful. Any trigger issues (squirrels, postal workers, other dogs, etc.) is also helpful to be sure your dog is being enriched and not adversely stimulated.
A typical day
Beyond the standard walks and playing in the yard (when available), I have found so many dogs love to simply be with a companion. For years I have had people tell me their dogs only want to run and play yet I find so many want to be on my lap (even the huge pups). Quiet, cuddle time with dogs is sometimes equally as valuable since most of us have such hectic lives and don’t find the time for our pets in this way.

My full-time schedule is dedicated to animal care and wellness. While some of my time is taken up as an active and involved grandmother, I am available most days and weekends to help you and your pet maintain a consistent daily routine.
