If you want a stressful trip with an irresponsible person who does not care for your pet's needs then Lilly is perfect for you. We asked her weeks in advance about housesitting overnight with our dogs for 5 days because it would be their first time leaving them with someone and she said "she would love to." She watched our pets for 2 nights before we fired her while we were still away. She already seemed a bit awkward during the meet and greet, barely interacted with our dogs and only stayed a few minutes but as she lived a couple blocks away we figured she was just nervous and it would be easy for her to pop in and let our dogs out, especially as she supposedly works part time and has a flexible schedule. The stay was schedule to start between 4-6pm, she showed up at 9pm and didn’t reply to our texts until she got to the house. The first day we asked for an update at 5pm as we hadn’t heard anything all day and she replied 3h later, again when she got to the house. Since we never got any updates from her we started monitoring our house alarm door open/close sensors. They showed that she let our dogs out in the yard for a total of 3min in the morning on the 1st day then left them in the house for over 8h before she came back and let them out, then sent us a video of her pretending to play with them when we asked for a picture. We had left detailed instructions stating that they should be taken out around every 4-6 hours since they are smaller dogs. The 2nd day was even worse. She again let our dogs out for 3min at 9.30am then left. We were getting worried and called a friend to check in on them early afternoon. We texted and called Lilly multiple times from 5pm because she was still not back but no answer. We ended up calling another friend to go feed them at 10pm and take them out again since it had been well OVER 12 HOURS that she was gone. She finally responded and said she was at the house and the dogs were fine, which was a LIE as she wasn’t even in our driveway yet. Our friend was still there and when Lilly finally arrived, we asked her to leave the keys. She was no longer wanted. Lilly did not care, when we asked her what was going on she made the excuse that she had work. She seemed completely unapologetic on the phone. This is Rover! You pick your days and jobs, you do not have to take a pet sitting job if you do not have the time. We paid double what the entire stay with Lilly would have cost us to get someone we trusted to watch our dogs for the remaining days because we were far away to arrange a new person and frankly, now we do not trust this site. The guest bedroom had a urine and fecal smell when we got home, and how could it not if our dogs were left to hold it in for over 8 hours a day. This was a stressful and an expensive trip all thanks to Lilly. Save yourself some time and money and get another sitter. Lilly truly does not care.
