Pet care experience
My name is Lilja, and I'm a 25 year old woman, living in Queens. I was raised on and around farms so I've cared for dogs my whole life as well as countless other animals. I respect them as equal creatures and love them as companions and friends. My loves are a border collie-Australian shepherd mix, spending her retirement in Florida with my loving parents, and my darling Toast, a siamese cat living here in NYC with my husband & I. So, I have lots of experience with multiple sizes of dogs, and I'm very diligent and proactive in my care of animals. The safety of your pup comes first, and I'll love them like my own, so you can be sure they're protected and well cared for. I'm great at following rules and guidelines you set, so you won't be spending your time away worrying about your best friend. **I use public transportation so if you're unreachable/nearly unreachable via bus or subway, finding a sitter with a car would be a better fit for you!

My dog is a good judge of character and he immediately wagged his tail and approached Lilja, and she responded to him in kind. This doesn't happen with all dog sitters. Plus she did everything I needed perfectly.

I love details, so any information about your dog is appreciated. Age, level of training, temperament, energy level, health needs, how they are around other dogs, etc. I have no breed preferences. I need a meet & greet to get introduced to you & your dog as well as get detailed information about their care before extended interaction with your pup (more than 1 day/night), as I put the safety of myself and your animals first and want to be the best match for your best friend.
A typical day
I will, of course, welcome any suggestions for activities and walk locations, as each pup is different. But, I do love to walk in any of NYC's great parks, as well as the quieter side streets of Manhattan. Depending on the dog's temperament and energy level, I also love to throw around toys in backyards or dog parks. I have some experience in basic training and love teaching pups new tricks and interacting with them in ways that stimulate their brains. Of course, cuddling and petting my dog friends is always my favorite.
