Pets are the best people!

Pet care experience

I've always loved and surrounded myself with animals. I've had pets of basically every kind for as long as I can remember. I've raised and trained three dogs from puppyhood, and currently have two adult dogs (a westie and a husky/malamute/german shepherd mix) at home who I absolutely consider my children. I’ve also had cats and rabbits for years and love to care for them as well! A little bit about me: I’m originally from New York, and I love spending time outdoors, thrifting, and reading. I have a PhD in chemistry and taught at a university before relocating to the Bay Area in the summer of 2021.

Lili is a great communicator, flexible and courteous. Lili is wonderful with our dog who is sweet but can be stubborn. A highly trustworthy and recommended dog care pro!

I have spent a long time fine-tuning this section of my profile based on experiences in the last few years on this app, so please take the time to read and let me know if you have any questions! POLICIES/SAFETY: Please schedule a meet and greet if you haven’t booked with me before! It’s a great way to make sure everyone feels safe and happy about the arrangements, and to make sure I know how to best care for your pet(s). I require a meet and greet for all new clients. I have been vaccinated and boosted. I consider your time to be valuable; please offer me the same consideration. I do not charge for the initial meet and greet, but I am at the point where I will need to charge a small additional fee ($10) for extra meetings outside of the official bookings. Here in the Bay Area, where gas can be anywhere from $4-$7/gallon and traffic can be extreme, it’s difficult to justify separate trips to pick up keys and drop off keys for each client all around town. Please think about ways for me to get in and out of your home that involve one of the following: picking up/dropping keys off with the front desk if you live in an apartment, leaving the key under a welcome mat, providing a code if locks are digital, locking the key inside, or else consider if you’d be willing to share a spare with me. It’s a great idea to think about this well before any potential booking, to save everyone unnecessary stress. I begin the walk or drop-in timer when I enter your home — if you live in an apartment building, I begin the timer when I enter your actual apartment. The reasoning behind this is twofold; first, you are paying for 30 or 60 minutes of my time. If 10 minutes of the visit are spent coaxing out a shy dog, then so be it. Perhaps going forward, we need to book 60-minute visits, or perhaps I’m not a good fit for your dog. The second (and even more important) reason for this policy is that the Rover Guarantee (basically liability insurance) only kicks in when the visit is in progress. If I’m harnessing up your dog but I haven’t “started” the visit yet, and your dog gets injured somehow or injures me, Rover will not be liable. Starting the timer the moment I enter the home ultimately protects the pet, the owner, and the sitter in the long run. Please know that I will make every effort to give your dog as long a walk as possible, within the allotted time frame. But once again, my time is valuable, and I need to be compensated for it if I’m on the clock and working for you and your pet(s). I only accept bookings with pets that are up to date on vaccines, and on flea and tick preventative medications. Indoor cats still require flea prevention, as fleas can and do come into the home on shoes, clothing, etc. I have my own dogs to consider, and cannot risk bringing disease/parasites into my home. I also only accept dogs that are spayed/neutered, and cannot accept dogs with a history of aggression. Please include ALL pets that you need me to care for on your profile and in the booking request. That means if you have two cats and a dog, I cannot accept a request for one cat, for two cats, for a cat and a dog, or for a dog if you actually expect me to feed/care for/spend time with two cats and a dog. This is in your best interest as well, because all of the pets need to be listed in the booking to be covered under the Rover Guarantee. Please list each pet individually with their own details. All rates shown on my profile are base rates for the care of one pet - there are additional fees if you need me to care for more than one pet. Just like every pet is different, so is every sitter. The way I conduct business may not be the same as how other sitters choose to do so; and that’s totally fine! I do my best to be as transparent as possible; please ask questions ahead of your booking to make sure we are on the same page! Cameras: Please let me know ahead of time if you have cameras, and where they are placed. It is against Rover’s policy to record a sitter without their knowledge and consent, and can result in the termination of services. Availability: Some days are blocked off on my calendar - you are still welcome to ask about those days, but generally I’m not available because I’m caring for my own dogs and working from home. In general, I prefer bookings that occur between 10 am - 7 pm, although I am still willing to consider requests that fall outside these hours. Unfortunately, Rover’s calendar currently doesn’t support specifying availability for certain times of the day. This means that I may be marked as available for the day, while there are still specific time slots during which I can’t perform services. Because of this, flexibility in requests is always much appreciated, and will contribute to the likelihood of successfully booking services! Please note: at this time, I am unable to serve as anyone’s full time or daily walker. I am accepting recurring bookings on an individual basis, if they work with my current schedule. However, if you need sporadic care or help for an interim period, I would be happy to help! If we do enter into a recurring booking agreement, please make sure you have some backup for emergencies. Life happens, and some eventualities can be unavoidable. Evening walks: In order to ensure my own and your dog’s safety, I cannot accept walks with a start time after 7:30 pm (8:30 pm in the summer). If you need to book a time later than that, the visit will instead become a drop-in visit (still 30 minutes, but after taking your dog outside for a bathroom break, we will spend the rest of the visit indoors). Disclosures/special needs: please be transparent about what you/your pet require before we set up a meet and greet (within reason). It wastes everyone’s time if one thing is discussed online, but something quite different is laid out upon meeting in person. With a walk or a drop-in, you are paying my base charge through the app for 30 (or 60 minutes) of my time to walk, feed, and/or play with your pet. If extras are needed (e.g. grooming or sanitary items, administration of medication, etc.), I am generally happy to discuss and accommodate wherever possible, however, often a small additional charge will be added. It’s always best to discuss these things beforehand so that everyone is on the same page. Cancellations: please review my cancellation policies (different for each service) on my page and make sure you understand them before booking. I am happy to answer any questions. Reviews: If you thought I did a good job caring for your furry friend(s), please consider leaving me a review! Reviews are super helpful for me to grow my business and client base, and are very much appreciated!

Information Lili K. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your pet has any special needs or behaviors that I need to account for/help manage. Is there any particular training that you’ve been working on that you’d like me to reinforce? Anything you’d like me to keep an eye on? Has your dog been walked/watched by a Rover sitter before? How did they do? Does your cat like to play or just chill? Do they want pets, or do they prefer more space? Does your dog have any disabilities or physical issues? Do they need to be lifted or carried? Due to my own back and wrist injuries, I am unable to lift dogs heavier than 30 lbs. Please confirm that your pet is on regular flea + tick preventative medication and is up to date on all their vaccines.

A typical day

I’m happy to play your pup’s favorite game or take them for a long walk to the dog park! Let me know if they have any preferred ways to play or spend that energy! Whether they have tons of energy or would rather just take it slow, I’m happy to go at their pace!
