Committed to Giving Pets My Best!

Pet care experience

Hello! Thank you so much for looking at my profile today! My name is Libby and I am a recent graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder. I was a pet sitter through Rover the entire time I was attending school in Boulder (COVID lockdown excluded) and it was a blast! One of my leading philosophies as a pet sitter is to give pets my best. I don’t cut corners and I always go into an animal interaction with an upbeat, calm, gentle, and compassionate demeanor. Pets are family, watching them is a privilege and a responsibility I take very seriously. Moreover, having their humans away can be difficult for some of our furry friends and I want to be a source of calm or comfort while they wait for you to come home. I was a popular and well-reviewed sitter on Rover while I was working in Boulder. I love sending you photos and thorough reports. While I adore all pets, young and old, my passion lies with elderly animals. I don’t mind cleaning up the extra messes or being a little more patient with an older pet. In my experience, older pets are some of the sweetest I work with and they are well worth the extra work. In Boulder I had a few older pets I watched who needed regular medical injections – so I also have experience with administering a variety of medications. Starting in March of 2020, I began training service dogs for the nonprofit, Freedom Service Dogs of America. This has been an incredible experience! I am a volunteer puppy raiser, I take in a service pup in training when it is about four months old and raise it until it is thirteen or fourteen months old. I supply these puppies with love, basic obedience training, and socialization. I successfully raised Phantom, the standard poodle, who has gone on to become a service dog for an individual with a neurocognitive disability. I am currently raising Oakley, another standard poodle puppy. This means in addition to my experience with older pets, I also have a lot of puppy practice. I am happy to talk more about Freedom Service Dogs or my puppy raising if you have questions. I hope this brief introduction has given you a good overview of my experience with and passion for animals and pet sitting. I’d love to answer any further questions you have about me or my qualifications. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day! Additional Notes: - I am still raising Oakley, the service dog in training, until mid-June. Because of this, my house-sitting availability is limited until then. Oakley still needs me to take care of him! Starting in the second half of June, I will be available to house-sit every day! - I am always willing to negotiate price based on your ability to pay and/or extenuating circumstances. Cat Discount: I only charge for every other cat I’m taking care of. For example, I charge the same for house-sitting or dropping in on two cats as I would for one ($35 a night or $12 a drop-in). 3-4 cats cost $24 a drop-in, 5-6 cats cost $36 per drop-in, and so on. I must manually preform this discount, it’s not automatic. When you initially offer me a booking it will calculate price by charging per individual cat; however, I will go in and change this before accepting the booking. Please let me know if you have any questions or need clarification on my “cat discount”.

Libby did a great job with our 3 dogs. This was the first time we have had someone stay at our home and was a great experience. Libby was quick to respond with communication and gave updates on how our dogs were doing.

Libby did fantastic with Beatrix! She even watered our plants while we were gone. She may say she doesn't have a green thumb, but she does! This was our second time having Libby watch Beatrix.

Libby was great and patient with Bear since he takes some time to warm up to people. Her twice-a-day visits gave me the peace of mind that Bear was taken care of by an experienced dog lover.
