Animal Lover in the DMV!

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Lianna! I would love to watch your four legged family members, while you're away. I'm a true and true animal lover, trained ASPCA volunteer, and I have participated in fostering animals for a number of years. I live in the South End in Boston and am available to watch pets in any of the surrounding areas. I have done pet sitting for coworkers in the past and can provide references if requested. I look forward to hearing from you! About this sitter: Lianna is software engineer and previously volunteered as a foster parent for the ASPCA, an animal protection, and welfare society. Lianna has also volunteered and fostered animals for SocialTees Rescue. Lianna previously owned a Maltese for several years and has taken care of a variety of animals according to owners' requests. Lianna currently lives in Boston, MA and is available for pet sitting and loves all animals. Lianna looks forward to meeting you and your dog(s)/cat(s)/other pets! Why I love dog sitting Since I was able to speak I've always wanted a dog. I grew up in Pennsylvania with a Maltese and provided the primary care for him (including walking, bathing, feeding, and play). When I moved to New York, I joined the ASPCA and multiple dog fostering rescues to be able to provide socialization and temporary housing for dogs, since I'm unable to have one of my own at this time. I now live in Boston, MA and love it and am looking forward to meeting the multitude of furry family members the Boston area has to offer. Meet my pets I currently do not have other pets in my home at this time. Payment & Related Info The listed per night rate will cover a 24-hour period from the time of sitters' arrival to sitters' departure (or from the time of the pet is dropped off, to the time the pet is picked-up). If sitters' services are required beyond the 24-hours covered by the listed per night rate, sitter will discuss additional fees with the client prior to confirming the booking. (For Example: If a client requests a two-night house sitting stay with a 12pm drop-in on Monday and a 10pm exit on Wednesday, the per night fee would cover 12pm Monday - 12pm Wednesday; so the sitter may add an additional fee to cover the 8 hours from 12pm - 10pm on Wednesday). Please feel free to ask Lianna about this when reaching out for a booking. About my yard I'm currently only available for house/pet sitting and dog walking opportunities at this time. My experience administering medication Yes, I have experience administering medication. As a foster parent, a lot of the animals I've fostered usually had health issues requiring medication. I will ask that the owner leaves instructions and perhaps demonstrate how medication is to be administered and I will take care of the rest. In the past I've: *Administered pills * Injections *Eye Medication *Treated Ear Infections in Dogs *Cared for Animals in Splints that are temporarily care bound until they heal

Lianna was a terrific sitter! She made sure odetta had lots of walks and time outside with her pal, our neighbor's dog. She sent tons of pictures and I was always updated! I came home to a happy, sleepy dog - can't ask for more!

We hired Lianna to administer meds to our older cat with mobility issues while we were away on vacation. She is cheerful, professional, flexible and courteous. She had no trouble giving our kitty her pills and sent us pics each visit. I would definitely use Lianna's services again.

Lianna was sent to me as a last minute back up sitter for my usual cat sitter during the holiday weekend. From the start, she was professional, kind and very attentive to any needs or concerns I might have had. While I was away she was very good with communicating with me about her visit- she even included pictures! And although I've never met her in person (key exchange happend between my usual cat sitter and Lianna), you could tell through her text messages that she was an educated, kind, and prospective individual. I would highly recommend Lianna to anybody looking for a pet sitter in a heartbeat. You won't be disappointed!

Information Lianna N. would like to know about your pet

When boarding in home I'm restricted to small dogs under 50lbs. I'd like to know the following: *How many walks do you usually give them per day? *What commands does the dog know? *What motivates the dog? Food? A toy? *How well does the dog walk on a leash? *What kind of collar does the dog usually wear for walks? Do they have a harness and fixed-length leash? (If not, we'll ask the owner to provide these.) *Does the dog have any health issues (e.g., arthritis, allergies, etc.)? *Does the dog need special additives in their food? *Does the dog take medication? How is it administered? *Is the dog crate-trained? Why does the dog go/get put in the crate and for how long? *Is the dog spayed/neutered?

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks: I live in a quiet residential area with plenty of side walks. I will take your dog up and down my block and for an extended walk, we can walk about 15 minutes to the LIRR station and back. I provide walks about 3-4 times per day. If owner request longer/shorter walk times, I'll happily accommodate their request. Your dog's sleeping arrangement: If your dog is crate-trained I'll ask that, you, the owner provide a crate or dog bed for your pet. Time I'll spend with your dog: On average I'll spend at least 2 hours playing with the dog each day.
