Hi there, my name is Leyla and I'm a psychotherapist associate, finishing my hours towards licensure and am missing having a pet of my own! (I wish my current rental would let me!) I love being with and caring for animals, and am known to have a special affinity for and know what is needed, for even the most standoffish of creatures. Whether that's the feral cat that won't let anyone near, who came up and rubbed my leg during our first meeting and continues to come say hi when I visit, or the rescue wild mustang - who doesn't let anyone catch him, except me. My peaceful, calm demeanor coupled with my integrity and compassion make other beings tend to feel safe and trusting in my care. They know I'm going to look out for them - and that it isn't about my agenda or control - but rather the relationship and communication, and doing what is safe and healthy for them. I have many years of experience working with dogs, cats, horses...And have studied animal psychology and behavior on my own, in depth over the years due to my own fascination and experiences. I've also cared for sick and aging animals, as well as caring for 11 puppies at once! I'm very interested in animal psychology and have been trained informally in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy - something I love partially because it can be beneficial to the health and healing of the animals, not just a tool for us humans. In this way, I think of all animals as equals...even though I may be the leader! I've been pet sitting and house sitting since I was young, through word of mouth and neighbors at the time. I tried Rover some years back briefly, but then became busy focusing on other career goals at the time.
