Lexie is GREAT!!! My little Emma was always well taken care of under Lexie's care. She is flexible and very good with keeping me in the loops during Emma's stay.

My dog stayed with Lexie for 10 days over spring break. My dog came back fine and well, but there was something about Lexie that didn't seem 100% trustworthy. She only communicated with me 2x during my dog's 10 day stay and that was only after I asked how my dog was doing. I'm not obsessed with my dog but thought I might got more info especially since it was a long stay. Also because I mentioned a couple of important issues my dog had-- food aggression with other dogs and staying in crate went she was alone. (My dog was adopted and has some previous baggage). When I dropped my dog off, Lexie was slow to answer the door. When she opened it, I could tell she had been hurriedly trying to usher other dogs into another room. She told me at some point she would only have 1 other dog, sometimes she said she'd have 2. She could have had 5 dogs in that other room, I have no idea. I asked if we wanted to do a dog meet and greet while I was there and she was quick to say, no, she would handle it. Lexie said everything was fine when I picked my dog up, but three things made me wonder how well she actually cared for each dog's needs. 1. I had told her about my dog's finding comfort in her crate (she seriously hangs out in it with the door open at home all the time), but when I walked in the apartment I noticed her crate was on its side with the door pointed up toward the ceiling. When Lexie saw me looking at it, she said, "yeah, I could never figure that thing out." A crate?! It's a simple standard crate. She couldn't figure it out? 2. She asked me if my dog usually rubbed her back on the carpet. I said no. She said that some other dogs she watches get rashes and that she would have put ointment on my dog if she got it. First of all, do other dogs she watches have contagious rashes? Secondly, I don't think she should put other dogs' ointment on another dog without vet or owner approval. 3. When I got ready to go, she asked me what food and treats were my dogs. So, what was she feeding my dog during the stay? She didn't seem to actually care about specifics for each dog. All in all, I think Lexie is looking for a quick, easy job as a college student. If your dog has any specific issues or needs, I might look elsewhere for a sitter. I usually read people well, and with my interactions with Lexie, I'll look elsewhere for a sitter in the future.
