Pet care experience
As a lifetime animal lover, I am dedicated to contributing to the quality of life of your pets. I have a natural love and enthusiasm for pet care and I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, both professionally and recreationally. I worked as a kennel technician at non-profit animal shelter and adoption center, The Pixie Project, for two years, and have been growing my pet sitting and dog walking business since 2015, with clients all over the city of Portland. I have plenty of dog-handling experience, and although there is always more to learn, I am confident in my ability to provide a positive experience for both you and your four (or three, or two) legged friends. I have spent some time with birds, reptiles, and rabbits as well, and would be more than happy to sit for pets other than cats and dogs.
Reviews
Lex was great with our big dog Kodi. Kept in contact well over the week, dog was happy and relaxed when we got back, and you couldn't even tell Lex had been staying for the week. Would happily use Lex again and recommend them to others!
We were very happy with using Lex for pet sitting, I felt that we were leaving our crew with someone experienced, capable, knowledgeable. Lex managed a difficult to pill cat, older dog with cancer on multiple meds and a true rascal of a puppy really well, with the house looking cleaner then when we left.
I needed a cat sitter on pretty short notice and Lex was wonderful. She took great care of my high-maintenance cats, asked me if she needed clarification about their usual routine or medications, and sent frequent updates with adorable pictures. She also kept my apartment in the same state as I left it, which I really appreciated. It was such a pleasure coming home to happy cats and a clean apartment. I can't recommend Lex highly enough!
Lex was great! We received lots of cute pictures and we returned to happy pups and a clean condo! Definitely will book with Lex again in the future

I am extra cautious when caring for pets to make sure they stay safe and happy. This means securing entrances/exits, making sure there's no food or dangerous substances left out, and avoiding reactive dogs on walks.

Information Lex G. would like to know about your pet
I don't drive, so location is important if you are requesting my house sitting service. Please also let me know whether your pet is fully house-trained or tends to have accidents, if they have any behavioral issues, particularly if your dog is reactive to other dogs, and/or if they need medication or have a special diet. I do not use prong collars, so if you don’t have an alternative method of walking your dog(s), please find another sitter.
A typical day
I will be as flexible as I can based on the needs of your pet. My goal is to create a sense of normalcy and comfort while you're away, so I like to get information from you about what your pet's daily routine is like, and I do my best to match it. For example, I am just as comfortable taking your dog to the dog park as I am crossing the street to avoid other dogs on walks. After having spent about seven years sitting pets in their own homes, I am now offering pet boarding on a trial basis. I live in a studio apartment on the South Park Blocks within walking distance of a green space that is not quite a dog park, but is popular among dog owners.
