Loves all dogs, big or small!

Pet care experience

I've been petsitting since I was a kid, and a dog lover even longer! In my home state of Georgia, I fostered dozens of dogs through a local canine rescue. I loved giving shelter dogs a warm, loving home while they waited for their furever family. Since moving to Boston, and into a non-pet friendly apartment, I've been missing a furry presence in my life. I've raised a dog of my own, and since she's crossed the rainbow bridge, I've been counting down the days to getting another. In the meantime, I would love to meet and hang out with some local pups, and give them some love while their owners are away.

Safety, trust & environment

I have dealt with enough door bolters, counter surfers, and shoe chewers to know to never leave a dog unattended in an unsafe environment. This means no choking hazards or open food left out, crating if necessary/requested, leashing before opening the front door, and whatever else is needed to keep your dog safe and comfortable. A safe dog is a happy dog!

Information Lexi K. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs, quirks, or preferences. Are they reactive to dogs, other people, bikes, strollers, etc. on walks? Do they like to greet other leashed dogs? Are they food or toy possessive? Do they have any sneaky habitats, like counter surfing? The more info the better to make sure your dog has an enjoyable and safe experience.

A typical day

I love long walks at local green spaces and on the Minuteman. I let a dog lead with their nose, for mental stimulation, and let them explore their environment. I also like to set up puzzles and games during rainy/snowy days, like puzzle toys and other enrichment activities.

I'm currently working remotely, so will have plenty of time for local walks and drop in visits. On weekdays, I am available most days for an hour around 8am, 12pm, and 5pm, but my schedule can be flexible depending on the day. On weekends, I frequently go on long walks or hikes, and would love to take a furry companion along! Timing is very flexible. For house sitting, I will be available most weekends from Friday afternoon to Monday morning.
