Loving, experienced caretaker!

Pet care experience

I’ve had pets my entire life. A one point I had 6 dogs and 2 cats at the same time. When my dad would go on trips, he trusted me to take care of all the animals while he was away. I also volunteered at Best Friends Animal Society; Los Angeles for one year. I have watched many of my friends pets while they were away!

Lexi provided peace of mind while I was away from my two cats. I loved seeing pix of them from each visit.

Lexi watched my cat and is extremely communicative. I would trust her to take care of my cat again and not only that, she watched and water all my plants. I had a lot!! NONE DIED! Which is a miracle on it's own. If you're looking for a cat sitter, look no more.

My wife and I booked Lexi for our two dogs for a Friday-Monday house sitting. We offered her the guest room to stay over in order to make things easier, which she declined. Our dogs are both professionally trained and well-behaved. To her credit, after three nights, the dogs were alive. On both Saturday and Sunday she spent four hours at the house in the morning with them. That said, Lexi was uncommunicative, disregarded our instructions, and was dishonest about her comings-and-goings at the house. Apparently unbeknownst to Lexi, we have a smart lock which allows us to monitor unlocking/locking behavior. We originally gave Lexi the benefit of the doubt and didn’t even bother to check. However, when we didn’t receive any updates on Friday evening, we began to keep tabs. She left them alone for 14 hours on Friday night and 12 hours on each of Saturday and Sunday night. We noted to her that the dogs usually go out for the last time at 9 PM and they’re up at 7, and while we understand that they can hardly expect to adhere to the same schedule with a sitter, adjusting that to 6 PM and 8 AM is excessive. Lexi also twice sent us pictures that were from much earlier in the day, one of those times sending the picture when she wasn’t even at the house. We had asked Lexi if she could take the dogs to the park for 30 minutes each of the three days, and she assented to that. Based on the door behavior, she almost certainly took them once, if at all. We also asked for updates, and received very few. To back this up, I will include the messages we received over the course of about 90 hours. Friday: - okay thank you! I’m heading over now - Hi! what’s the wifi and password? - thank you! - oh i missed the wifi password on the paper! Thank you! - <in response to a request for an update> They’re good! (With pictures, one taken that morning despite it being 6 PM at the time) - they’re very sweet! Saturday: - i didnt end up staying the night but Zoey has been fine! - <in response to a request for more updates> yes i can do that! - they’re doing good! (Pictures included) No further updates beyond 11 AM Saturday Sunday: - (picture) - (picture, sent at 6 PM while she wasn’t at the house and taken much earlier that day) - yes! Monday: - okay sounds good! - (picture) i just left! <this message was sent 30 minutes after she actually left> Clearly, to call Lexi reticent would be a massive understatement, but the misrepresentation of her behavior was even more concerning. We understand that house sitting will never be perfect, and that sitters have other significant responsibilities that inhibit their ability to replicate the level of care that they would normally receive from two work-from-homers. However, we did our best to ease the burden by offering up a bed, allowing Lexi to do laundry at the house, and making it clear that she was welcome to relax there as she desired, and the resulting level of brazen disregard was borderline insulting, making what was intended to be a relaxing trip quite stressful.

Lexi did a great job of taking care of my older cat Tinkerbell! She needs seizure medication 2x a day so I needed some drop in visits. I love that she spent time giving her attention while I was gone too!
