Responsible dog lover with backyard

Pet care experience

I owned a dog for 18 years and miss having one in my life. I am a responsible owner who loves dogs and misses having one in my home. I am also a good trainer of dogs. I also owned cats for years, (though those are not trainable.) I am a business professional who works at home and am home most of the time, so I can be there for dogs who want someone present, especially those with separation anxiety. (Exceptions are for meetings or errands.) (My own dog of many years had this, as well as arthritis (in his later years,) so I am familiar with both.) Since my home office needs to be a quiet environment, as I am on the phone most of the time, dogs with regular barking issues are not desired. I have a house with a fenced backyard, (7-8 ft. high,) and would be open to dog-sitting well-behaved dogs which have been trained not to bark incessantly, ruin things, or have aggression, or in-house potty issues. (For dogs not potty-trained or with incontinence issues, you must supply a crate.) I go for a walk each day over the lunch hour, (and if I have a dog, after work as well,) and live a block away from a lake where there is a park. I am an early riser and early to bed as well. I can communicate with you via phone or email. Hablo Espanol. FOR STAYS AT YOUR HOME: it depends on where you live and if it is safe. Depending on where you live, there may or may not be a charge for mileage. Also, I will NOT sit in a home with smokers or those into doing drugs. Re: house sitting stays: I charge more as 1. It takes me away from my home business. If the stay is more than 2 days, $15 a day is added to my at-home rate. 2. It has me sleeping in a bed and house which is not my own. Rover.com allows me to get my pet fix since I love dogs and cannot own one.

Leslie was awesome with Kozmo. She updated me frequently and seemed to really enjoy her time with my pup. Will definitely be taking Kozmo back to her when I leave town

Leslie was able to accommodate my urgent need for dogsitting in an excellent manner. My dog Sadie thoroughly enjoyed her time with Leslie. I had just landed in Japan and desperately needed someone to care for my dog, as another sitter was no longer able to do so. Leslie responded in record time and was able to facilitate the hand off seamlessly. Leslie gave constant updates and pictures of Sadie enjoying her walks by the lake. I will be looking forward to asking Leslie to care for my dog during any trips that I take in the future. I cannot ask for a better dog sitter than Leslie, as she is a wonderful human being.

Information Leslie S. would like to know about your pet

I like to have a chat with the owner in advance to ask questions so that I learn about their pet, her/his preferences, so that I can be prepared. I also need to know about the feeding and medication routine. (Any out-of-the-ordinary, multi-ingredient concoctions of foods and medicines will be an additional $10/day.) Also, I do not accept any dogs which have aggressive behavior, (including biting and/or excessive barking problems,) are not house-broken, which are not trained to follow basic commands, which jump up on furniture after being told not to. Dogs where a meet-and-greet, or absolute assurance is needed: As I was mauled and attacked unprovoked by a pit bull, I will only accept a pit bull or pit bull mix if it is VERY docile and friendly and does NOT have the inbred viciousness some have.. If I do accept it, my fee will be increased by $10 a day, and require a signed waiver that your dog has not bit anyone and that if he does you will accept full legal consequences. I only accept any chihuahuas if you assure me confidently and honestly that it does not have an obnoxious, high-pitched, excessive bark which is too stress-inducing and is not conducive to my work-at-home businesses . . . or neighbor satisfaction. For drop-ins or daily walk services, (not boarding or in-owner sits,) the times and availability depends on the owner's location.

A typical day

Walks in my neighborhood as well as over to a park by the lake (a block from my home.) For dog walking at your home, my dog walking rate pertains to places of 10 miles or less. If the distance is more, inquire as to the rate. Time spent in a fenced yard, (with high fencing and locked gate,) or inside, or both, depending on dog preferences. Playing with toys.
