"Incredible belly rubs." -my dog

Pet care experience

Growing up, my parents always had a family dog in our home. When I turned 18 and went to college, I adopted a puppy that was abandoned in the woods and found on a hike. He became my best friend. He lived to be 14 and just recently passed from old age, February 2022. I miss him and a friend I teach with, suggested I pet sit! I figured it would be worth a try, as I had pet sit for a few friends and family in the past. In 2022, I gained 30 positive reviews (on Rover) from my fabulous fur friends and their families. I have several repeat clients and I encourage you to read my reviews! -I do require a *complimentary* free Meet and Greet appointment, prior to our first booking together. This ensures that we are all the best fit for one another! -I have my fingerprint clearance card and a reliable vehicle -I am highly trustworthy and I love cats and dogs! -My last 2 roommates had cats and I love getting to know their fun personalities! Or leaving them to rule the home, while never making direct eye contact- whatever works.. I know the fur friends need our time and most importantly, our love. I will carefully follow directions you leave for me in your home. I am a very clean and organized person and would treat your family member and your home, as my own- with the most respect and care possible. ❤️ Additional services offered, ask at your meet and greet. Extra services will be paid in cash by the pet owner. Money will be left for pet sitter on kitchen counter. Extra services may include: - Dog poop pick up $25/20 minutes of my time, depends on weather conditions -Mail & or package collection: $1 per day. If it's under 5 days, I do not charge. *I'm not rushing home to bring your boxes inside, but yay for you!! ✌️ -House key pick up appointment (on any day other than meet and greet appointment) $25 *must be paid at time of key pick up appointment. Please note- If you give me the house key the day of the meet and greet, no key pick up appointment needed. If you can use a garage code or front door code, please provide that information to me the day prior/the day of your departure for your booking. You do not need to give me a key in addition, unless you want to! I do not let people "hide" the house key, unless you have a working camera, which monitors the location where the key is being hid. If your camera stops working and someone finds your key- that's on you. Another alternative is a house key lock box. Please consider giving a neighbor a spare key, in the event something happens to the original key. (Or tell me what to do if I somehow get locked out. It's never happened, yet!)

We have used Leslie multiple times to watch our 2 dogs. They are always well cared for and happy. I appreciate all the pictures and videos she sends while we're away. :)

Absolutely the best! My pets absolutely love her, as do I. She communicates so well, it truly helps you feel at ease with being gone. We come home to a well cared for house and some very happy fur babies!!

Safety, trust & environment

Safety, trust & environment: I care for pets in the pet owners home, not my own home. I have roommates at my home and can't watch your pet at my home, unfortunately. I maintain good relationships with my clients and really do my best to make everyone happy!! I listen to your suggestions. I take notes. I ask clarifying questions when needed and I believe that clear and effective communication is required on both my end (and the pet owner's end,) in order to maintain a healthy pet and working relationship! I lock doors. I double check that the stove is turned off. I send pictures and videos of your animal, so you can let me know if you notice something I don't. I try my best to prevent any accidents from even being possible. I'm not a perfect pet sitter, but my reviews reflect that I take this job very seriously, because I do ❤️

Information Leslie M. would like to know about your pet

Good to know ahead of time: I would love to know of any special/unique needs your pet may have. I get it, they have their own big personalities and we need to be understanding of that! The most important information on my entire profile, please read carefully before hiring me: Please do not assume I will remember something you once verbally told me, or something you believe you verbally told me. I probably will, but there is always that little chance, I won't. I don't want to take chances when it comes to your baby. I do require that you put all important information to the overall welfare of your home, pet and myself- in writing (or a photo of the writing, put in the app,) so that the information can then be reviewed accordingly and clarifying questions may be asked. Please send me this information (via Rover app messenger,) at least 6 days prior to the booking date ❤️

A typical day

-I enjoy walks, cuddles, naps and just chilling out with your pet! I still can't believe this is a job. I love it! - I like to walk around well lit parks/areas, where I feel safe with your baby. - I do carry poo bags (and I understand I need to pick it up, *if* not at home!!) - I don't let strangers touch your fur friends. - I won't give out details to your curious neighbors, as to where you are (without your permission!!) -I will run around a bit with your pet in your yard, if you're okay with that! You can leave toys and suggestions of what your pet likes to do for fun!! -I definitely conversate with pets, as I believe if they are usually spoken to, it helps to ease their anxiety. If you have a home camera and need some free entertainment, listen to our conversations. You'll hear all about my day! On that note- I'm totally cool with cameras (inside and/or outside) I just require that you tell me about them at least 6 days prior to your booking. No cameras allowed in the bedroom I'll be sleeping in or in any of the bathrooms. ✌️

Schedule: I work full time in education (all kinds of experience with multi tasking and distributing my attention, evenly, among the babes!) - I have to *be at* work at 7 am until 3 pm, Monday through Friday - I do not work my education job on the weekends, meaning I have some extra time for the fur friends! *I am not home 24/7, but the occasional "I'm not leaving the house for 24 straight hours day" definitely happens. Just depends on energy levels and prior commitments.* - I also have most holidays off work from my education job, as I get vacation when my students do. This means that around busy holiday times when people often travel- I am typically off work from my main job and can be available to watch your fur babies! - **On that note- to clarify, I do not stay in the home 24/7 to watch your animal (even with "overnight" visits.) During an "overnight" booking- I do sleep in your home (I love pet cuddles, if allowed!) I sleep (usually) from around 10 pm until about 5 am. A normal day's schedule may look like the following: 5 am: wake up and take fur friend potty 5:15 am: feed and water 5:30 am: take fur friend potty for post meal bathroom use 5:45 am: I message you to check in for the morning message and then I lock up and head to my teaching job 4 pm: I get home and take your fur friend potty 4:15: I feed and water 4:30 take fur friend potty 4:45 ish: I message you to let you know how dinner and potty/the evening went *I typically send a morning message and an evening message each day 5 pm ish: I leave your home and go to the gym. Maybe I grab dinner to take to your home to eat...or maybe I go walk around Target for a bit to unwind! Perhaps I'm too tired to do any of that, find a pizza and stay in & snuggle your fur love all night. It really just depends on the day. ***please understand this is my -second- job. I take it seriously, but you are not paying me to stay in your home 24/7. There ~are~ some pet sitters that are able to do that, I am not. Please understand this ~before scheduling your complimentary meet and greet appointment ❤️ 9 pm ish: I usually get ready for bed with your fur love! My weekends, look about the same as above referenced. However, I am often home much more. (It depends on the day. Some Saturdays I go hiking. Others, I Netflix binge and chill with your pup for 36 straight hours. I use common sense. If I was gone a lot during the day prior, I try to even it out and stay in more, the following day.)
