Pet care experience
I've had dogs and cats since I was a little kid. I've walked, pet sat, and cared for all varieties of dogs (not to mention goats, llamas, and chickens). I find it important to spend time learning an animal's signals and body language so that I understand how they respond and can build trust from the start. I only use positive reinforcement and have experience working with leash reactive dogs.
Reviews
Very communicative and took great care of our pups!
Leslie did an awesome job dropping in on our dog. She sent good communication and clearly has an interest in dogs and knows how to engage well with them.
This was our first of hopefully many visits with Leslie. Lilly and Greta (my rescue, who is very picky and cautious) loved spending time with her. Exactly what i want to see when entrusting my 4-legged family members to someone else!
Leslie took wonderful care of our cat over the holidays and was a fantastic communicator

I will typically take dogs for a 30-60 minute walk, either around the neighborhood where you live or in a nearby park, depending on your preference and your dog's temperament. Before leaving I will ensure that the dog has fresh water available. For drop in visits, we can discuss how you'd like your pet to be taken care of. Maybe your pet likes to chill in the yard, or wants some ear scratches while you're at work or any number of other things. I am happy to spend time with your, undoubtedly adorable, pet.
Information Leslie H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know about any behavioral quirks your pet might have (doesn't care for bicycles? wants to be friends with all dogs even if they don't want to be friends too? might try to express their enthusiasm by jumping up on the shoulders of a new human friend?) and where their favorite toys and treats are kept. If you use specific training techniques or styles on walks or in the home, I'm happy to practice them with your furry friend.
A typical day
I like to take my cues from your pet. If we're hanging out at your place we'll probably go through the toys until they find the one they most want to play with for a while (I'm a big fan of ribbon toys for cats and anything that makes pups scamper). We'll probably play at least one training game to engage their brain. Usually, the time we've play for a bit they're ready for some cuddles (obviously the best part of a visit!) Unless you have a prescribed route you prefer to take, I like to take dogs on slightly different routes around their neighborhoods each time. The goal is to find something they might not have encountered before (like a house that has chickens - let me know if your pup has a strong prey drive - or the gorilla statues outside Woodland Park zoo).
