Hello! Thank you for visiting my profile today! This is full time work for me and I feel blessed to work with so many wonderful dogs every day! It means a lot to know I am making a difference in my clients lives by providing excellent care for their dogs when they cannot be with them. I work full time as a professional dog trainer. Yes. Full time. This is not a side hustle for me. I am very selective about dogs that I accept for boarding. Dogs must be able to quietly use a crate when needed. Dogs must be friendly towards other dogs. I have an extensive background working with all types of dogs and have formal education from a Professional Dog Trainers program. You can read more about my dog training and services available at www dot bluedogelite dot com. I have worked in a boarding kennel and managed groups of dogs in a daycare setting there. I also worked for Canine Fence company as a field trainer. I have a large fenced backyard with lots of shade and also live across the street from a park with lots of open space. I live on a quiet residential street with low traffic. I enjoy hiking and running with my dogs. My children are high school aged. I completed and passed a 350 hour course to become a professional trainer in 2004 at CT K9 Academy in Newington, CT I am an Professional Member of the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals) Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator for the AKC I have received my certification for course completed from PET TECH for Pet CPR and First Aid Your dog's safety and comfort while under my care are my top priority! I am a five minute drive to Bradley International Airport and will do my best to accommodate drop off and pick up times in correlation with your flight departure and arrival! I am working with a local groomer who has a mobile grooming van for anyone interested in full grooming services while their dog is under my care. I can also provide baths and nail trims for some breeds so please ask! I have many satisfied long term customers and would be more than happy to provide direct contact references for you to verify. This was my first experience with Rover.com and using any kind of care for my puppy. I was very apprehensive to leave my 4 month old since our family has been home with him since we got him from the breeder at 8 weeks. Lesley reassured me that he would do great with her while my family enjoyed a pet free vacation and she was right! She sent me several updates with pictures and made me very at ease with my decision. She is a fabulous pet sitter and I would highly recommend her!!!!!

Both Kona and I are so happy we found Leslie and her family. Kona went for a day visit 'meet and greet' in preparation for our upcoming 2 week vacation. Kona had a blast and came home tired and happy which made leaving him there for our vacation very comfortable. Leslie introduced Kona to her other dogs one at a time to monitor the connection and comfort level of each dog. Kona is the only dog in our home but loves to play with others. He was in his glory playing with the others at Leslie's. I'm sure Kona is hoping to go there again soon.

Dogs are accepted that are calm and well mannered in home and can socially accept the presence of a few other well mannered dogs. Dogs spend the duration of the stay in our shared living space and have access to our living room furniture and dog beds. Some dogs may be crated for bed time and when they are left home alone. Dogs are fed seperate from other dogs for safety. FI GPS collars are used for overnight guests as an extra level of assurance and monitoring. Dogs are always introduced to other dogs in a gradual way and under calm and relaxed conditions. We do NOT do this on leash or with owners present as it can create heightened arousal and anxiety both in the dogs and humans alike.

A typical day
We have a large fenced in yard. Swimming available in the summer in our pool. A large variety of dog toys and enrichment activities are available as this is a dog trainers home. I can offer training services during stays and off property adventures for an additional fees that can be discussed.
