Pet care experience
Growing up, in addition to our dog and cat, we regularly rescued animals in distress - from possum babies to chinchillas, I grew up caring for a wide range of animals. Since then, I’ve regularly looked after friends’ and neighbors’ pets when they’ve been away. I’ve looked after senior cats and dogs that needed meds, high energy puppies, tiny dogs, big dogs ... you name it. I even adopted an amazing cat when I did Peace Corps in Nicaragua and brought him back to the US with me.

Highly recommend. Our 12 lb havanese mix has some separation anxiety, but we love her for all her bells and whistles. She won't rip up the sofa or shred pillows but will certainly whimper for 2 hours if we leave her with a new pup sitter. (#VelcroDog) We started slow with one night, then two nights, and ultimately leading to a 9 night Thanksgiving Holiday boarding. I think our pup enjoyed it based on the photos and videos. Leila is very responsive, provides photos and videos. Leila even took our pup on hikes in the Oakland regional parks and took her to the beach! Yes, the BEACH!! Most of all, I think Leila has a calm energy about herself and is very patient. Something we can appreciate with our pups quirks. She limits her dogs to the house to one or two at a time which is great because the place isn't chaotic with dozens of dogs in every corner of the house. She does have a backyard but it is not in use as a tenant lives in the detached unit in the backyard. We would recommend her. Cheers!

A typical day
I live next to great walking trails and a huge park. We will go for long walks to explore new sights and smells through the local neighborhood, explore hidden trails and stairways, or hang out in the park.

I’m currently working from home with a flexible schedule so have plenty of time to play with your pet and give them lots of attention. I don’t have pets of my own right now so have extra time and space for yours.
