Pet care experience
I am very active and will take well behaved dogs on trail runs and ski tours if requested. I'm also happy to take your pup on a simple walk or just check in on them to give them a belly rub. I have my own dog that I can include on walks and play sessions or leave him at home if yours is more of solo kind of pooch. I have experience training, although I am not a certified trainer I can help with some basic training such as leash walking, respectful play, recall, gentle mouth, polite door greetings, gentle exposure to new experiences. If you are interested in training we can discuss a modest extra charge. I train with a balanced approach and work to clearly communicate what we are asking from our pets so we can set them up for success.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend! Leigha was such an amazing dog minder. She was so considerate of Henry and flexible with us. She took Henry out on exciting walks, hikes and runs, gave him the opportunity to practice commands, interact and learn from other dogs, and get lots of attention from humans - Henry couldn’t have asked for a better weekend in Montana! We wished leigha lived in LA so we could book with her all the time! ☺️
Leigha was absolutely incredible!!!! We are working through a few puppy issues with Tor including some “stranger danger” and she was remarkably patient, kind, and shared her research on training techniques with us. We were super grateful for her dedication and understanding that he might be nervous with a new walker. On top of all of that, Leigha took him on lovely long walks / runs and spent lots of time making sure he was comfortable - the absolutely best company we could ask for while we were away. HIGHLY recommended, thank you so much Leigha!!
Leigha is always the first person I ask to watch Irie, my high energy, 4 month old blue heeler. She makes sure to know what we are currently training and what the rhythm of her day needs to be. Leigha is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to handling and training dogs and you can trust that your dog will be in good hands. She is awesome!
Leigha has done extensive research into effective and kind dog training methods. She is calm and patient with all kinds of dogs and has great advice for problem behaviors. I know when my older Australian Shephard Mix and very young pit bull mix are with her they are not only having fun and working out some energy, but are also learning new skills to become even better dogs.

I believe that energy and attitude is the best way to have a great first meeting. I always meet new dogs with a calm demeanor and only greet them when they settle. I am also happy to implement any training techniques you are working on with your dog.

I enjoy working with all breeds and I would like to know how dogs interact with other dogs, strangers and children. I would prefer not to work with dogs who have acted aggressively towards strangers in their home. I always start dogs on leash and only go off leash with consent of the owner and several sessions with a dog who demonstrates reliable recall.
A typical day
Depending on what the doggy parents ask, I could take dogs to parks, on running trails, through forests and down to running streams to play in the water. I love throwing tennis balls and frisbees for those fetch aficionados and helping dogs learn new tricks.

I am a student at Missoula College and most of my classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays. Depending on my work schedule I can make any other day work!
