Pet care experience
Hi! I’m 22 years old and recently graduated from college, now living in Costa Mesa, CA. I love spending time with animals but can’t afford to have one myself at the moment. I would love to incorporate dog walking into my schedule to prepare myself for owning a dog again, and also save the money I earn from Rover to support the dog I hope to adopt one day! I owned a German shorthaired pointer for 12 years, a highly active and attentive breed. She kept me on my toes and has helped me learn how dogs communicate. I can quickly pick up common signs dogs show when they want to be fed, need to go for a walk or want to play. Kind of random but I also have experience taking care of Mallard ducks! They not only came as a challenge but presented a learning opportunity of how to interact and read signs of other animals. I prefer walking dogs with a harness which allows me to prioritize the dogs safety. I have more control when interacting with other dogs/people, making sure dogs stay in the sidewalk or path and do not veer out into the road. I also always carry treats, water, and doggie bags on walks as well! Let me know if you would like me to feed your dog treats/food that you currently feed your dog.

I am open to taking care of all types of animals! I would personally prefer to walk animals but I am willing to do check ins as well.
A typical day
When I had my dog, I usually walked my dog through our neighborhood in Oregon and played with her in my yard. I would love to find dog parks in the area to take dogs so I am willing to walk your dog where you normally take them/walk them. I would most likely walk your dog around your neighborhood but I also love walking at Newport Beach so we could walk there as well!

I am currently working full time during the week and would be able to do check ins and walks after 5pm. I am also available all day on weekends!
