Dog Lovers - Pets are family!

Pet care experience

We are dog lovers of all dogs. Dogs are family to us. Since adolescence, my family and myself have had multiple dogs in the family at all times. Home is truly not home without fur babies running around and snuggling us. We treat each dog like a child because they are -- they receive patience, affection, attention, some structure (usually we enforce the rules you want us to enforce so they don't un-learn their good tricks and pick up bad habits), and playtime. We are comfortable administering medicine or special meals or sticking to a unique schedule. My husband Kyle and I have now been on Rover as sitters since 2015 with a brief hiatus when our children were babies. We have had the opportunity to sit for nearly 90 dogs in that timeframe. It has been so much fun having all these fur babies with us, being entrusted with all their care, and getting to experience all the different personalities. Kyle, myself, our two children (age 4 and 6) and our beagle Harper will be taking care of your pet. We keep our house clean, and Harper is always kept fully up to date on all her vaccinations, flea, and tick medication. We are open to any questions you may have, so if you have any, just send us a message. We are okay with last minute bookings or long stays, as long as we can squeeze a quick meet and greet in there. Thanks for looking at our profile!

Lee R. And her family were absolutely wonderful to my dog. They sent updates and photos regularly. My dog is senior, they gave him love and attention just as if he was their own dog. Thank you!

We were so happy with the sitter's patience and care with our shy puppy! Our dog was very happy and not depressed when we got home. I 100% recommend this sitter who will take care of you dog, provide updates, and ask the right questions!

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fenced backyard and a ranch floor plan where your dog (if older) wouldn’t have to climb stairs. Kyle and I grew up with dogs, and Harper is a 10 year old beagle who loves to play with other dogs. She's a great mate for dogs of all temperaments. She has a great nature, is playful, submissive, peaceful, and reads other dog's cues very well. Since beginning our adventure on Rover, she's had the opportunity to play with so many dogs that we've sat for, and she loves having other doggy friends over. Since we do have young kids, dogs that are good with children are a must. Our kids have learned to be respectful of dogs and treat them well. While we were on hiatus from new clients from Rover, we still continued to care for our regular customer’s dogs (who have become our family) when our babies were truly babies, and they have grown up with dogs.

Information Lee R. would like to know about your pet

Ultimately the most important thing we would like to know is what we can do so that your pet is most comfortable and what your guidelines are for how you want us to care for your pet. We will follow all your guidelines. Also the other basics - we would like to know feeding schedules, how often you would like me to take him/her outside (apart from dog park visits and walks), allergies, if you prefer for us NOT to take your dog to the dog park, special diets, and anything else that we could do to make your fur-kid more comfortable in my home. Do they prefer to be crated if no one is home? Are they allowed on the furniture? Where do they sleep? What is their sleep schedule? How will they let us know that they need to go potty? Our policy is to sit for 1 dog at a time, unless there are multiple dogs from the same owner. Occasionally, one pup's stay with us may overlap another pup's stay or some of our repeat customers do need a sitter when we are already booked, and in that case, we will maintain transparency by letting both owners know prior to booking both stays and getting everyone's blessing.

A typical day

We are home most of the time with the pups, and of course we'll be giving your dog lots of attention throughout the day. If your dog seems more independent vs receptive, then that is totally fine too! Your pet will not be outside unsupervised (in the backyard or front yard) until we are comfortable that he/she is fully comfortable and not an escape artist . Kyle and I work hours that really complement our Rover sitting service, so one or both of us are home 95% of the time. Harper is our co-baby sitter (she will become your pet's new best friend) because she makes fast friends with all dogs she meets. A typical daily schedule with us is: Wake time around 7 a.m., breakfast shortly after. A morning walk sometime between morning and lunch. In the afternoon, playtime outside in the back yard (throwing balls or otherwise spending time outside) and dinner around 5 p.m. Throughout the day, your pet will have access to a doggie door that leads to our fully fenced in backyard. If your pet doesn't know how to use the doggie door, we will take him outside for potty breaks every 2 or 3 hours. We may have more playtime outside after dinner, and of course, a last potty time before bedtime which is around 10 p.m. I have always loved to receive pictures of my pets when friends or family were sitting my pets, so we send updates and pictures throughout the day (as often as you prefer).
