Work From Home Dog Mom and Beagle!
Pet care experience
My beagle, Lucy, and I live in Logan Circle and would love to host your house-trained dog at our home. Lucy hates to be alone and loves it when we have dog friends stay over. I am a dog lover and often dog sit for friends and family. I've fostered several dogs through Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and the BREW beagle rescue and continue to do that when I can. Since my condo is fairly small, I usually only host one dog at a time for boarding. Every once in a while I'll take more than one boarding dog if their stays overlap for only a day or two. I will occasionally have one boarding and one daycare dog at the same time. *Please note: I don't usually accept drop-offs before 8am. If you need an early morning drop-off, please book an extra night to drop off the day before. I'm more flexible with times for evening pick-ups and drop-offs. Daycare over 10 hours will be charged at the boarding rate.
Reviews
Another wonderful stay with Lee and Lucy! She always takes such great care of my dog and I know that he's happy to stay with her!
Another fabulous stay with Lee!!
Another 5 star stay with Lee and Lucy. Lee was very accommodating of my dog's unexpected medicine/dietary changes due to a GI issue. He seems to have enjoyed his vacation with Lee!
My pup Susie had a great stay! Really nice to have daily updates on my pup and to know she was safe and happy while I was out of town.

I will only make myself available for dog sitting when I have plenty of time to spend with your dog. I work from home full time, but I do leave for up to 5-6 hours at a time for appointments and errands. I have a sturdy metal crate and prefer to watch crate trained dogs that can be crated when I need to leave the dogs unsupervised.

Information Lee P. would like to know about your pet
I live in a condo building, so dogs that are frequent barkers would not be a good fit for us. I like to meet all clients and their dogs before an overnight stay, so that we can make sure that everyone gets along and is comfortable. Lucy does best meeting new dogs for the first time off-leash, so I usually ask that we have our meet and greet at Shaw Dog Park. Since I require a meet-up before I watch your dog for the first time, I normally don't accept last-minute requests for dog sitting (i.e., day before or day of) from new clients. I only take small or medium-sized dogs. Dogs 40 pounds or less would be ideal. I have a special place in my heart for beagles and hounds, but will of course take any breed. Your dog should be fully house-trained and should be able to go up to 5-6 hours between walks. Lucy is a mostly low energy dog and she doesn't play with other dogs much. If your dog is high energy and needs a lot of play time with another dog or regular trips to the dog park, we are probably not a good fit.
A typical day
Time at my house will be spent lounging on the couch and watching tv. For bed time, your dog will be able to choose from two dog beds, the couch, the floor, or a crate. Dogs will be allowed on the bed on a case-by-case basis. I live a few blocks from the Shaw dog park and can take your dog for play time there if he/she enjoys dog parks. Otherwise, we'll take long walks in the neighborhood. Lucy and I usually go for about 4 walks a day, but we can adjust to your dog's schedule.
