Welcome to our family!

Pet care experience

We are a family of 3 golden retrievers who love to have guests stay with us. Our human parents have been fostering and taking care of family dogs for years! We have met, played with and slept next to a variety of different breeds from golden retriever rescues, and various other rescues in the Bay Area. We have lots of fun and would love to share our home and our big king size bed with friendly guests! If our guests are shy, they will soon enjoy their stay. They will be treated like royalty as we are! Walks are fun as is our kiddie pool. We have a roomy 2000 sq. ft. house, nice backyard and safe neighborhood. Oh by the way, our guests must get along with cats! About this sitter: We are a semi-retired couple with grown children so we have plenty of time and energy to devote to our lasting love - Dogs! For the past 4 years we have fostered dogs for several rescue organizations in Northern California when we are not caring for guest dogs. We have 3 Golden Retrievers of our own who love to play and socialize with our guest dogs. Our ususal routine includes long walks in the nearby hills and trails. We also have indoor cats that are part of our dog friendly environment. Why I love dog sitting We have had dogs all of our lives. We have been fostering with Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue and do home visits with potential adopters. We also have fostered with other rescues in Marin, Petaluma and Lake County. Meet my pets We also have inside cats that are dog and people friendly and tropical fish! About my yard Yard is totally fenced. Side yard is designated as a "do your business" yard. We have dog beds and dog toys ourside and a lawn area where our dogs can roll around and romp and play. Right now we have a very small 10 ft deep easy set up pool for us and requires booties for our goldens if they want to cool off, and a hard plastic kiddie pool that the dogs can just lie in if hot.

We left our Golden Retriever, Scout, with Lee for four nights. Lee and his wife were so kind and caring toward Scout! They sent photos and videos every day along with a report of how Scout was doing. Their back yard is set up so perfectly as a play area for dogs, tons of toys and pools for the dogs to cool off in. Scout slept in Lee's room and had the run of the house as well as outside. We could not have been happier with the service provided by Lee and will use him again.

Information Lee C. would like to know about your pet

Dogs must be friendly, get along with other dogs, up to date on their vaccinations, not chase cats and good with kids. We will take pups that are housebroken. We have 4 grandchildren that visit occasionally and love to be around our dogs. It would be nice if he or she was crate trained for those times when we have to run an errand or go out but not necessary. We never leave our dogs more than 2 hours. We find in a strange home when there are multiple dogs, our fosters and guest dogs feel more comfortable in their own space or with us on errands.

A typical day

We walk around the neighborhood or up the hills or on the many trails in our area. Your dog's sleeping arrangement In our bedroom with everyone else. We have a crate available in our room also for any guest dog that is used to sleeping alone in their dog cave! Time I'll spend with your dog We spend most of our waking hours with our dogs and our guest dogs. We consider them all part of our family and they participate in what we are doing including short and long walks, play time, and lazy TV time. At night we all sleep in one big bedroom! My husband is semi retired and is home most days. I am also retired and help out with kitty rescues in my spare time. We always think about our dogs' well being and every chance we get we interact with them. In this household our dogs are number 1 priority!
