I have known Lee for about 4 years. I am the director of the Ames Animal Shelter and I have been a firsthand witness to Lee's compassion for animals. My dog Beau is afraid of some men and when Lee first met him, Beau didn't want anything to do with him. We were standing in the shelter parking lot at the time and Lee went out of his way to make Beau feel better by laying on his back and making himself as small as possible. It worked! He and Beau became fast friends after that. Lee has experience caring for a variety of species because he owns a variety of species (many were adopted from our shelter). He and his wife have always adopted older and/or special needs animals, so he also has experience dealing with many medical conditions and administering medications. Any dog would be lucky to have Lee as his caretaker!
