UPDATE: Some things you can do to help your pup have a more comfortable stay: -- Make sure they are used to going to the bathroom on the leash. Outside time (walks and potty breaks) ONLY happen on the leash, so your pup MUST be used to going to the bathroom on the leash. If this is not typical in your home, we ask that you take the time before the stay to only have them go potty on the leash. We understand this can disrupt your normal routine at home, but this will help us in our home immensely, and any returning pups must have had no accidents/be completely housebroken in our home. -- We cannot leave food out for any dog to graze a meal. We will give them an opportunity to eat, but then will have to pick up the bowl and they will receive new food at the next meal time. This is for the safety of any other dog in our home. Take the time before the stay to practice picking up the bowls after ~15 minutes. -- If your dog is used to sleeping in a human bed at home, please take the time before the stay to have them sleep in a dog bed, crate, or on the floor otherwise. We cannot allow dogs to sleep in the human beds in our home! My husband and I are long-time experienced dog owners and pet rescue volunteers. (Our dog, Astro, is no longer staying in our home, as the stairs became too difficult at the age of 15! We are very active and go on multiple walks every day -- tired dogs are the best behaved dogs! We've been offering this service for over 10(!!!) years! We would like to make your stay with us as easy and smooth as possible, and so we will do our best to keep your dog feeling comfortable in our home. Just let us know whatever special needs or requests you have when we meet.
