Pet care experience
I am happy to share my home with your special pet. I have moved into a home with a fenced yard. I have shifted my Rover business to (mostly) dog boarding. I work from home for most of the day which allows me to be of company to your doggie. :). For meet and greets we can meet outside and social distance with masks or no mask whatever is preferred. Now that I am able to dog sit out of my home meet and greets has been easier at my home and allows your dog to come check it out and sniff around. As I try my best to book last minute dog sits please keep in mind I may need a little more time to schedule a meet and greets prior to booking. If you’re comfortable without a meet and greet first feel free to let me know. It's so rewarding and exciting taking care of a furry animal. I always am the go to for friends and family for dog sitting. I eventually will be at the point in my life I will get my own puppy, but for now what greater pleasure to meet and bond with various amounts of friendly pups. I love it and it makes their day and mine a bit more exciting as well releave some stress for you, the owner, while your away. It's such a pleasurable job, a great way to release some energy, fullfilling & therapeutic. Having a doggy guest in my house and spending time with your pet is a responsibility I do not take lightly. I am active and enjoy extra walks and play time in my routine so what a great way to accomplish this and help others while doing so. I've always been a dog lover. I had experience living with 2 fostered Rottweilers a few years ago. They definitely were a handful, but enjoyed having them in the house. In that case, I am use to larger dogs but enjoy all sizes. The program that the Rotweilers were fostered and rescued from is Heart Of Rescue based in L.A, but operated in Portland. At that time I was able to help foster around 10 dogs and help them through their transition to eventually become adopted. I also volunteered at PAWS (a non-kill shelter) when I lived in Chicago and it was very rewarding. I understand and am patient with adopted pets. If your pet has any corks or triggers please communicate that with me. I am excited to have Rover in my life to earn extra income while doing something I enjoy. Currently I am a licensed real estate agent here in the Portland area and beyond. I am fortunate to work from home most of the day and it allows me to take ample potty breaks with your pet, breaks for walks, and be home with the pup. I am not living with any other pets in my home and need to get my puppy fever out. I ask if your pup has any non house trained corks let me now. I am proud to say I’ve been working with the Rover app for over 6 years. My goal is to gain repeat clientele and build relationships with pets and their owners. It’s been a really fun experience so far. It’s also a great way to meet new people and build relationships that can carry over to my Portland real estate career. Leah was great with Cosmo and sent cute pictures.
Leah watched my dog reactive pit mix for an extended weekend. She was very flexible with drop off/pick up and very understanding of all my dogs quirks
Leah was wonderful! Shaka my dog she is a bit hyper so needed someone that has worked with her kind of energy and a strong breed. It was nice to know she was well taken care of while on vacation. Thank you Leah! Shaka misses you!

A little patience and realization helps when your pet is in a new environment or has someone new in their home. Compassion and care is so important. While I am hosting a dog making sure your dog is comfortable is important to me and has their own space for their own dog bed. I do allow dogs on my furniture as well. My fence in the back yard is secure. If you have a very small dog I will double check there is no escape holes in the fence. If I know I am leaving my home for a few hours I like to leave tv on for the background noise for the pup. My street is reasonably quiet and I can close the blinds. While house sitting it’s important for me to leave things clean and in place before leaving. Part of the routine is to send updates and pictures for the owners.

Information Leah V. would like to know about your pet
I enjoy all different types of breeds and am comfortable around most dogs. If there is any dog on dog aggression I would like to be aware so while walking I can cross streets if need be or walk in a less dog populated area. If your dog doesn’t like many humans I ask let me know up front!! I can accommodate by not having company over. Any triggers for the dog such as bikers or joggers please let me know. Any injuries or sensitivites your dog may have would be important to know. Any dietary restrictions for your pet would be a must to know. Also if your dog enjoys new company/ meeting new people. OR prefers to have just one on one time. Any triggers with certain genders is good to know. As long as your pup is comfortable w new guests in the house we will have a fun play date. I am open to meet and greets before hand if necessary to ensure it would be a good fit and for your dog to get to know me.
A typical day
I live in the NE area. I enjoy just walking through neighborhoods and exploring new pockets of the city. Going to local coffee shop is always a relaxing break while going on long walk. Cuddles is always a must :) I have a good size fenced back yard so very easy to let a dog out quickly.

Most of the week my work is done from home. So it’s nice to have a little company when pet sitting. I am available to take lunch breaks and take quick walks around the neighborhood. My schedule is flexible and when I am out driving for work I can swing back home for potty breaks or walks for you dog! Normally, if I am working out in the field it’s less than an 6 hr day.
