Pet care experience
My name is Leah, I'm 27 years old and my family has had dogs in our family the past 21 years. I've been volunteering with the Pet Alliance and have learned how to take care of animals with all different personalities and lifestyle requirements. Growing up, taking care of the dogs was always one of my responsibilities and taking care of and bonding with animals is something I enjoy a great deal. I have lots of experience with pet sitting and am more than happy to work with you and your pet to ensure that all your pet care needs are met, whether that's overnight stays, full-time care, or just occasional check-ins and I will always be upfront with you about scheduling. I'm comfortable with all dogs up to 100 lbs and any age ranging from 8 weeks old to senior furry friends. I'm familiar with the basics of both puppy and clicker training and can work with your pet while you're away to maintain your dog's training schedule. I also adopted my own kitten in the fall of 2021 and have experience caring for cats of all ages.

My apartment doesn't allow for guest animals, but I am more than comfortable staying overnight at a client's home if the pet needs extra care or is young and would require more frequent bathroom breaks.

I prefer to have a meeting with the dogs and families to make sure that everyone can make sure they get along with and are comfortable with each other. I also would like to know if the dog has anything that they're afraid of or uncomfortable with (storms, other dogs, etc.) so I can make adjustments to their care accordingly.
A typical day
Whatever your dog's patterns are, I will do my best to keep. Being separated from their people can be stressful for our pets, but I believe keeping their routines can help relieve some of that stress. If your dog likes to go to the park, take long walks around the neighborhood, or just wants some living room tug-of-war, I am more than happy to keep their time with me as close to their normal days as possible.

Availability
I have full availability on Monday through Wednesday, and flexible availability Thursday through Sunday. My hours at my job change from week to week, but I typically have plenty of time in the day outside of my shifts to care for all of our furry friends.
