About Fozzie

Fozzie was a transport shelter dog. His journey began in Texas, where at 3-4 months old he found himself in a shelter. His tail had been partially cut off. He made his way to Colorado and was relocated to the shelter we ultimately found him. His fur was falling out and after multiple visits to the vet and some tests, it was determined he had some sort of alopecia and was partially blind. What he lacks in fur he makes up for in personality. He LOVES people and is perfectly content to rest his head on you, lay near you, and be your shadow. If you stop petting him, he will put his head under your hand. He loves to play with plush squeaky toys or just mouth his sister (Luna) until she plays with him.

  • Sex: Male
  • Age: 1 year, 2 mo. old
  • Weight: 60lbs
  • Breed: Golden Retriever & Mixed
  • Tracking Chip: Yes
  • Neutered: True
  • House Trained: Yes
Fozzie is house-trained, however he is still a puppy and had an accident at Nick's parents house when we went to visit them. We tend to take him out as soon as he has finished eating, and then periodically though the day. We monitor the amount of water we leave out, because if you keep a full bowl out he will drink it all and then have to go out.
  • Gets along with children: Yes
    He loves people.
  • Gets along with other dogs: No
Fozzie is bonded with Luna, and will get along with other dogs after they get a chance to meet. He was in the shelter system for half his life and is partially blind. He will bark at other dogs, yard ornaments, and decorative boulders.
  • Gets along with cats: Maybe
Has never been around a cat.
