Pet care experience
I have experience with animals of all ages and demeanors. I understand that leaving your pet while on a trip can be overwhelming and also an unwanted cost. To that end, I strive to go above and beyond your expectations by providing you with (probably too many) photos of your pet while you’re gone and giving them as much attention as I’d want my babies to get if I were gone! I will reach out about your pet’s needs and routine depending on your requested service. The reason I do this is to ensure your pup/cat isn’t totally overwhelmed by a new person coming into their territory. Typically I like to know things such as, how far/long are your walks? Do they usually go potty on walks? How are they around other dogs? Do they get a treat when they return? Do you need me to fill up their bowl or water any plants while I’m there? I work a hybrid role, so while I may show as unavailable on Rover, please feel free to contact me as I may be able to swing by or housesit if the timing works. I keep my service area small so I can be available at a moment’s notice for those in Metzger.

Simply put, Leah was amazing and made my time away from Spätzle so much easier. I got Spätzle during the pandemic so he is used to always having someone around and I was worried how he would do with me being out of town for almost a week. I met Leah ahead of the visit and she instantly made me feel like he would be in good hands. Spätzle is a very social kitty who craves attention so it was nice to have someone look after him who obviously adored animals! While I was away she kept me updated and sent tons of cute photos, as well as a detailed outlines of his visits (which was greatly appreciated). Unfortunately, Spätzle had some tummy issues and had a few days of loose stools. Leah let me know immediately and went above and beyond by cleaning up the messes, giving him a bath (bathing a 19 lb Maine Coon is no easy task (he's not a fan but tolerates it)) and was available to add extra visits at my request. Her quick communication about it made me feel that he was in good hands and she conveyed that he was otherwise a happy and healthy kitty (he's had occasionally bouts of an upset tummy before). I felt awful that she had to deal with a poopy situation, but she was so kind in her messages and never made me feel like it was a burden and that gave me so much comfort that he was being taken well care of and that he was in good hands! When I got back home I was so glad that he was happy to see me and cuddled right up wanting to play as it reaffirmed how amazing Spätzle was treated in my absence. He even started playing fetch with his toys a bit better than before. I am so happy I found a great and reliable sitter who I can depend on to treat my guy as if he was her own. I would highly recommend her and plan to use her again in the future.
Leah was amazing! Our dog Fig had an awesome weekend with Leah. She kept us up to day date so it was like we were there too.

I booked Leah to stay with my dog, Summer, while I was away at work on the fourth of July to comfort her during the fireworks. I was so glad that I did! Leah made me feel confident that my pup was well cared for.

I have worked for many clients as well as volunteered at local animal shelters. As such, I’ve had experience with harnesses, prong collars, gentle leaders, and other specialty collar/leashes. I have experience in crating dogs as well as ensuring areas are blocked off before leaving a home if needed. I have also worked with deaf dogs and partially blind dogs during my time at the animal shelter.

Your routine, anything I can do to make them feel like it’s just another day and keep them feeling relaxed and happy. Whether they have any allergy/diet issues and if there’s anything I can do to make your life easier when you get home.
A typical day
Whatever fits your needs. If your dog needs a long walk or even a run to be worn out, we will do that. If they prefer to just take in the smells of the neighborhood at their own pace, we can do that too. If you prefer I take your dog on a run, please tell me ahead of time so I can dress accordingly. If I housesitting, I will bring in any packages you receive or obvious indicators that you may be gone. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with additional items such as watering plants or raising/lowering air to save power, etc.

Availability
If you need a walk on a weekday evening, feel free to reach out regardless of my displayed availability. I might be able to make it work :) weekends and Mondays are my days off, so I have more flexibility on those days.
