lots of time & love for your furry pal

Pet care experience

I have lived with dogs (and cats) for most of my life and really miss having them around. Sadly, my lease does not allow pets, so I make do with playing with the dogs at the park, and taking care of the furry companions of friends and neighbors. Hoping to add your special guy/girl to my list of loaner doggies : ) We'll go for long walks, cuddle on the couch, or talk about the meaning of the universe and those running dreams where the cat/pigeon/mailman is just out of reach.

Layla is amazing. Will definitely hire her again. She jumped in to a last minute all day stay with our new puppy. Felt like we were leaving our pup with an old friend. Communication was easy, she was sweet to our kids, who were worried about leaving their doggy with a stranger, and our puppy loved her. Layla paid attention to all the details of caring for a young dog, and was easy to work with, helpful, and professional.

Layla has been fantastic with our super anxious dog, Lena! She is patient and loving to Lena. She has a strong awareness of Lena's anxious moments and finds the best way to help her. Layla has been very flexible, communicative and reliable which leaves me feeling assured that Lena is in good hands while I'm working.

Bella continues to love her walks with Layla. Also, Layla continues to be a reliable and responsive dog walker that really puts my mind at ease when im at work. You should not second guess choosing Layla as your dog walker.

My husband and I have been using Layla's dog-walking services for several weeks now and I cannot say enough about Layla's professionalism. She always responds to all inquiries promptly and I have no worry leaving our furpup, Bella, in her care. Not only is she prompt in her response to any question or inquiry we may have, she takes the time to tell me about any weird thing that is going on with Bella (ie. suspicious poop), so that we are always on top of Bella's issues. Layla also is patient with all of our requests. Layla creates a peace of mind to dog owners when dogs are left in her care. She is responsible, trustworthy, and LOVES dogs. We will continue to be repeat clients of Layla and I wouldn't hesitate one second recommending her to all of my family and friends.

Why I love dog sitting I'v always loved animals, but dogs, well, they're just extra wonderful. The happy-to-see you wagging tail and big silly grin, the brow furrows and soulful eyes, the velvet ears and long pink or purple tongues. What's not to love? They're walking comedy and have the biggest hearts in the animal kingdom. I grew up with two ridiculous golden retrievers and one really special and hilarious chocolate lab who was all love and happiness. In San Diego I lived with a rottweiler who looked really good in a bikini (we dressed her up) but just couldn't understand the concept of fetch. Later, I fell in love with the sweetest pitbull mix who's brow furrows could melt the antarctic. Sadly, since moving to San Francisco, I've yet to find myself in a living situation that allows me to adopt, so I make do with petting and talking to the neighborhood dogs playing in Dolores park or waiting for their people to come out of stores and cafes. I also pet-sit for friends and neighbors when opportunities arise. While I love all animals, I don't claim to have any special training, so if you have a high-strung furry friend with a lot of challenges or behavior problems, I'm probably not the right person for them. What I offer is a lot of time and love and a genuine desire to hang out with your pals and take care of them like they was my own.

Information Layla H. would like to know about your pet

Anything you feel is relevant to their wellbeing and happiness: how long they like to walk, favorite toys/snacks, how they get along with other dogs/people, what freaks them out, what makes them sick. I like all breeds, but am most familiar with medium and larger dogs. so far, puggs and French bulldogs are the smallest breeds I'v had the pleasure of personally meeting.

Time I'll spend with your dog I'm flexible. It just depends on your dog's needs and our arrangement.

My family had two cats and 3 dogs. I lived in a really small town, and neighborhood baby sitting, cat sitting and dog walking were my first jobs. Almost every household I've lived in as an adult has had a cat or dog to look after. As a person, I'm honest, reliable, and straight forward. I'm also intuitive and enjoy sussing out people and animals. Bonus: I'm a massage therapist for humans, but I do enjoy applying what I know to animals as well.
