Availability
I am a veterinary assistant now in Maryville so I do have long hours consisting of 12 hour days! If your dog is use to that then we’re all good! I do typically work 4 days a week and rarely weekends. Please let me know BEFORE meeting if your dog cannot handle these long hours because then we will not be a good fit ☹️

Safety, trust & environment
I have my own cat and stimulation is always important. Lack of stimulation is how you have a dog or cat that is “annoying” so I am willing to be that while people work during the day. I always look for signs of fear, distress, or aggression when entering a new home with a dog. I am the stranger in the situation so I don’t take offense to barking or timidness. With walks I look for heat stress or signs of being tired as well. And if we have to end a walk early due to weather I always stay to give your pup time out of their crate or time with their new bestie (me!)
Information Layla G. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog is more shy, doesn’t like being picked up, anything where if they act weird I’ll know why. I’ve had dogs growl at me, but the owner warns me they’re just shy and scared and I’ll take my time and we will become friends after! Feeding and potty schedule is also important to see if I can give your furry friend the best of care during that day since I work long hours, so PLEASE let me know if your dog cannot handle being left alone for long periods of time BEFORE meeting me/booking! I am a visual person so any important information please write it either in a note left for me or message it in addition to telling me verbally!
A typical day
I usually walk your pup around the neighborhood if there’s nice walking areas where you live. I live near lakeshore park so we can enjoy the scenery there! If there are toys out in your home we will 100% have play time after the walk.

Your pet’s new bestie!
Pet care experience
I have been on Rover for 2 years and on Wag for 5 years. I recently completed my Masters of Science degree at UTCVM and I am a Veterinary Assistant (please read about my schedule below), so I know the signs of distress and basic care and your fur baby is in good hands! I have experience caring for senior cats and dogs as well, giving sub-q medication, and oral medication. My dream is to be a veterinarian so taking care of your pet is a passion of mine! I work with horses a lot so bring on the big dogs! Can’t wait to become your dog’s (or cat) newest bestie 🐾

Reviews

Layla is amazing. Our pup Cali usually takes a minute to warm up to people and Layla was patient with her which is exactly what she needed! We're so happy Cali has a new friend for when we go on trips!

Layla was fantastic. We have two senior dogs, and she went above and beyond to make them feel comfortable while we were out of town! highly recommend.

Layla is an extraordinary dog person. She is so good with animals and all details with house and dog care.

Layla was absolutely incredible with our puppy! Definitely will be using her again!!
