We unfortunately had a very bad experience with Lauryn . We booked Lauryn to stay with our dog from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. Lauryn was at our house at around 1pm on Friday and sent us pictures of our dog. At our house we have a ring outdoor security system and we get a notification if someone goes in the driveway, to the front door, or in the backyard. My husband and I were out with friends at around 9pm when we realized that we hadn’t gotten a ring notification all afternoon, meaning Lauryn had not been back to our house. I sent her 2 messages and got no response. When my husband called her, she answered and said she had a work emergency and was at target and that she fed our dog dinner when she was there around 1. We left specific instructions and talked over the plan with Lauryn that our dog needed to be walked and fed dinner between 4 and 5. She finally got to our house between 9 and 9:30 pm. Even if she did have a work emergency, a message saying so would’ve been appreciated so I could’ve asked a friend to pop over to take our dog for a walk and feed her dinner. We also asked that our dog gets walked 2x a day and fed at 7-8 am and 4-5pm. She will not poop in the backyard and didn’t get her walk the night before. The next morning we still had no ring notifications that they left the house for a walk. At 9:45 I sent her messages asking how our dog was doing, and got no response. We called her at 10:15 and she told us she would get our dog out for a walk soon. She told us her rover app wasn’t working so she wasn’t getting messages. At 11:30 she still hadn’t let her out at all, not even in the backyard to pee. Between the two events, I was so uncomfortable that we asked Lauryn to leave and had friends take over taking care of our dog. Our dog hadn’t been taken on a walk while in Lauryns care, meaning she hadn’t pooped in over 24 hours since I walked her before we left for our trip. Additionally, she eats farmers dog and I know exactly how many meals were in the fridge. Our dog was either not actually fed dinner on Friday (but if she was it was 3-4 hours EARLY) or wasn’t fed breakfast on Saturday morning when she left at around 11:30 am. I had expressed to Lauryn my anxiousness with leaving our dog with people we don’t know very well and to have this response was my biggest fear. She didn’t take care of our dog in a way to meet her basic needs which is extremely disheartening and discouraging. Lauryn obviously has great reviews which is why I felt comfortable having her take care of our dog, but this experience was 0% what I expected
