Pet care experience
I will care for your dog like he/she is my own. They will feel right at home as I follow your regular daily schedule including - exercise, meals, play and sleep. They will be welcomed onto our dog beds (or their own that you provide) or they may feel most comfortable cuddling on my bed. You will be met with a calm, content and happy-head dog when you return. I provide baths, basic grooming, trail hikes, beach walks, and I can assist you by transporting your pup to and from vet visits or other appointments. Daily transport to doggie-day-cares is also part of my offerings. I have years of experience caring for elder, fragile pets and am trained to painlessly do injections if your dog requires. I'm a bit of a dog whisperer in that I can also administer oral meds to dogs without causing them stress. Since my jobs are from home - your dog won't have to be alone for more than 2 hours. “A person can learn a lot from a dog, even a loopy one like ours. Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. He taught me to appreciate the simple things-a walk in the woods, a fresh snowfall, a nap in a shaft of winter sunlight. And as he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly, he taught me about friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty.” ― John Grogan, Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World's Worst Dog I also provide care within your pets own home if travel distance is less than 8 miles from my home. Daily care fee differs from the base $45/night. Cost is based on type of pet (cat, dog, reptile, bird), number of pets, additional services such as mail and plant care, and frequency of visits per day/stay. Please note the final cost will be itemized on Rover.com before I accept payment and after we confirm your stay. Why I love dog sitting Since I started my own dog sitting business in high school....which was a long time ago! Meet my pets One 9 year old happy and loving golden retriever. About my yard fenced in, some grass, some stone, back porch area is pleasant and filled with plants and 2 bird feeders, bird bath, chairs and usually me. My experience administering medication yes. Have done injections for insulin dependent pets. Have cared for older (14+ year old large breeds)
Reviews
I am disappointed in the communication I received from Laurie, especially her dog Ruthie was a little too mouthy when playing with my pup Juneau and got a cut on Juneau’s nose. The cut will heal in a week and she was initially responsive and give me info when it initially happened, but when I tried to ask more questions once I picked up Juneau and after seeing how bad the cut was, she is not responding to questions and messages then. I really enjoyed meeting her and her daughter at first and Juneau seems to really like them, but I did not like the unresponsive ness afterwards.
I was extremely upset by the care my dogs received by Laurie. While she has several reviews and repeat clients, I will list the reasons I will not be trusting her with my dogs care again: - Laurie was over 20 minutes late and unresponsive for both drop off and pick up for my dogs. - Laurie left cat food that was accessible in a place for my dog to eat, and my dog was sick for multiple days with diarrhea because of this. Laurie did not let me know about this until my dog had diarrhea for over 24 hours. My dog ended up having diarrhea for 48 hours. - I had to text Laurie to ask for updates and did not receive a communication for over 7 hours after I reached out - I found out that my dog had diarrhea and was very sick because of the cat food, and the dog blankets (with diarrhea on them and pee) were not cleaned for multiple days. - Laurie watches up to 7 dogs at a time, and claimed that my dogs were peeing in her house. My dogs have never peed or pooped indoors, so if this is true they were neglected under her care. Not knowing which dog messed in the house means they were not being watched. - my dog has a frisbee that is very special to her (a comfort object, a rhino stuffed animal and elephant stuffed animal) are all missing. I would expect all toys for my dogs to be returned after their stay.
Laurie and her daughter took such good care of our two pups. Laurie even trimmed our goldens nails and paws for us. Her fenced in backyard is a pups dream! Would definitely recommend!!
Lori was so great and responsive! She has a great yard and you can tell she really loves animals. Would love to book with her again.

I would ask the owner if the pup has any preferences for the following: length of walk in minutes, food allergies or limitations, meds, issues with children or other types of dogs, where they are used to sleeping, what time of day do they usually eat and what time they wake up to go out in the morning and night time walk.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks Several options we walk daily: Trail leading to a small neighborhood loop. Neighborhood Loop to a small dog park and side walks all the way home. Upon request - we often go to Hendry's and Dog area of Tucker's Grove - if the owner and their pet are comfortable with and well behaved during off leash play time and walks. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Anywhere they are used to sleeping at their primary home. Dogs are welcome on any of the four dog beddies, on my queen bed, on my daughters twin bed and also on the couch adorned with yummy fleece cuddle blankets. Time I'll spend with your dog 24 hours. I work from home. In my home, I provide the care that a dog is most accustomed to at their own home. This consistency gives the dog a sense of security even when they are somewhere new. Following owners' directions is my focus regarding sleeping, eating, walks, and rules such as on/off furniture. If they are used to being a cuddling-lap-dog they can spend many hours each day being cuddled. If their favorite activity is ball fetching - we will head to the park with our chucker and fetch a few times per day.
