Always hire a professional

Pet care experience

If you don't choose us your dog is missing out on the time of his life! I have a securely fenced yard and two smaller dogs who can't wait to welcome your dog! With over three decades of professional animal care I am very comfortable carrying out your vet's orders whether that be oral medications, injections or even fluids. NEVER a charge for medicating! Visiting dogs have the option of having the run of the house as a member of the family or spending time in their own room with or without a crate. I offer structured play times multiple times per day where we either play in the yard or go for a walk. Dogs are always supervised when outside. We have an in ground pool that water loving dogs are welcome to take advantage of. Your dogs can lounge around the pool on their own vacation! Before your first stay we will schedule a meet and greet so you and your pet can become familiar with our set up and so I can do a temperament test as required by my insurance. Part of that test includes meeting the resident cats. They don't have to love cats but they have to leave the cats alone. If you know your dog would love to snack on kitties if given the opportunity, this is not the place for him. Thanks for understanding! About this sitter: Trainer with over 30 years experience in professional animal care. I can give medications in any form including injections under a vet's direction. Fully insured for your pet's protection. Why I love dog sitting I have trained dogs for farm work and obedience for over twenty years. We have tons of fun with outdoor activities like playing fetch, herding an exercise ball or splashing in the pool. I am also a dog walker and enjoy hiking with my dogs as well as my client's dogs. Meet my pets I have 30 years of professional animal care experience, most of which was as a racehorse trainer. Training horses is very hard on your body so I needed to find something less taxing. Animal care comes easy to me as it is my passion so dog boarding was the logical progression. It is true if you love what you do you never work a day in your life. I strive to make it a safe yet fun environment for everyone involved. About my yard We have a securely fenced backyard as well as an inground pool. Dogs are allowed to run freely in the backyard but are supervised at all times while they are outside. My experience administering medication I have given tens of thousands of injections and oral medications over the years so I am well prepared to carry out your vet's orders.

This was the first time that we used DogVacay so we were a little apprehensive but we found the whole process to be very easy. We chose Laurie because of the great reviews that she had received. My husband and I totally enjoyed our vacation and did not worry about Brody at all. We loved getting the pics and videos from Laurie. She also gave us some much needed training tips. Not only will we use Laurie as our dog sitter again, but I highly recommendher!

Information Laurie M. would like to know about your pet

A meet and greet is required before your dog's first stay so that I can do a temperament test and can observe his interaction with my dogs. It gives you both a chance to familiarize yourselves with our set up. During the meet and greet we can talk about your dogs preferences in terms of play and activities as well as any fears he may have. Any info you can give me that will help your dog feel at home is welcomed.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We have quiet streets with extensive side walks all through the neighborhood. Your dog's sleeping arrangement I have a private dog room set up or they can sleep in a bedroom of their choice. Time I'll spend with your dog If the dog is comfortable around us, they can be with us as a family 24/7. Both my husband and I work from home so there is almost always someone here. I have at least two structured play sessions or walks per day in addition to frequent bathroom/exercise breaks throughout the day.
