Experienced Dog Owner and Lover

Pet care experience

My husband and I are animal lovers and we especially love dogs. We started fostering dogs in February 2018 (plus we had two of our own) and we love it. I love the dogs socializing with others, I love getting to know a variety of different dogs and breeds and I love that my kids are learning to help needy canines. But we are ready to switch it up. We will continue to foster but like that dog sitting has a set end date and allows for better planning. Sadly, our two beloved pups both passed at the end of 2018 (cancer-14 and 10 years old). We adopted one of our fosters and she'll be a year in June 2019. She loves to play with other dogs and we love having new dogs come and play with her. I think it's good for them to meet a lot of other dogs in safe and warm environment. We have three children (8, 6, and almost 3). They all love dogs (of course) and help out with them a lot. We have a fenced in yard. Our home is chaotic in a loving, heartwarming way. I know how it is to go away and leave your dog(s). We had to do it many times. I want to give people the option of a home where your furbaby is safe, comfortable, and treated like family. We only crate if the dog is not house trained. If the dog is trained, he/she would sleep in the dog bed in our bedroom with Nora. When I go out or to work, if the dogs are safe together, they will be left free to play and snuggle. My first priority is always safety so everything I do will be based on that. The only conditions I have are that the dog must be okay with children and other dogs. Lastly, I am a nurse (for babies). I do know basic first aid for doggies and have no fear or issue with administering any types of medications. I can handle minor wounds and care, if needed. While I am not home 24/7, I am in and out a lot so the dogs have plenty of opportunities to go out and get some tlc.

Amos had a great time while staying with Laurie and her family. He is a bit shy at first but Laurie was able to make him feel right at home and a few hours later he was playing, running and tail wagging! Definitely recommend her and her family to take care of any dog.

I recommend Laurie and her family to everyone! I had to go on an international trip for work and felt very comfortable with my pups in her hands. She kept me updated with how they were doing each day and they seemed very happy when I picked them up! Thank you for treating my babes as your own I will definitely be booking again in the future!

Laurie is the loving mommy to 3 humans and 1 small doggie. For her entire adult life, Laurie loved and cared for her 2 rescues, through sickness and health, until the natural end of their lives. She and her family are dog lovers and your furry loved one would be smothered in love and attention, and well cared for, and you can rest assured that your fur baby is in good hands until you return!

Information Laurie L. would like to know about your pet

How is your dog with other dogs? With kids? Any details I should know about him/her, i.e. food possessive, afraid of thunder or fireworks, will try to sneak out of door whenever possible, likes a lot of people or is hesitant? The more we know, the more we can try to make our home like yours.

A typical day

Playing with toys, practicing their manners, running around outside with Nora (my puppy) and the kiddos, when weather permits. Snuggling.
