I love dogs! I grew up with them, have been a foster mom for rescues and have two sweet fur babies of my own. I'm that lady who stops you on the street to talk to your dog (but is that really so crazy given your adorable dog?). I love pet sitting, too, as it gives me a chance to love on new dogs, and gives my dogs new playmates. I have a pet safe apartment, and the little guys can wander freely, or I can gate off a large kitchen and hall for doggies who may be prone to accidents or who like alone time. I work from home all but one day a week, and take frequent play breaks to give attention and cuddles. I have dog beds in my home office, so puppies can hang out throughout the day, or they can snooze on the living room couch...usually this happens after doggie play time. If your baby is up for it, Katie (my Bichon mix) will lead the Brooklyn 500...a looping run from the front door to the very back corner of my office. There are no flags and no proclaimed winners, but it looks like fun. At night, I have dog beds in my room for those who like to stick close. Or they can sleep on the couch or crated, whatever is preferred . And in the mornings, we have doggie bed party time...where everyone gets on the bed for play and cuddle time with additional snuggle and snooze sessions. Dogs go out for a minimum three walks per day and are fed twice a day with fresh water put out at each meal. Given my background, I have experience with a variety of breeds, personality types and dogs with special needs. The only real deal breaker is aggression issues (food & toy guarding are fine as is some fearfulness in the "getting to know you" period). Otherwise, you tell me what your dog needs, and I'll make sure he/she gets it. And while they will of course miss you, I'll do my very best to make sure they have as much fun on vacation as you do!
