I'm a friendly, loving, and experienced cat and critter sitter! I've spent the past 3 years working at my local animal shelter helping to raise and care for kittens. At the shelter, I specialized in kittens that had special needs (very young, vision problems, super shy, required medications several times a day, difficulty with eating...). It was incredibly fulfilling and I proudly raised 30 kittens and 2 bunnies on my own and got them adopted into their forever homes very quickly. I worked with cats ages 2 weeks-10 weeks at the shelter. But, as I've always grown up around cats and have also worked as a cat sitter, I've worked with cats ages 2 weeks - 16 years. I also have experience giving medications to older cats (it's a challenge but I don't mind it!). I love dogs, but am currently not accepting dogs as clients. I have a lot of experience as a petsitter and with animals in general. I love to play with animals and give them lots of pets, cuddles, and attention to make sure they don't get lonely. I can stay with your animal as long as you would like and come by a few times a day or spend the night, whatever you think would be best. I personally love house sitting because it lets me really connect with your animals all day long but I know that for other animals quick visits are better. I have special training in giving cats medications. In particular, I've worked with eye medications often, oral medications (liquid & pills), and giving multiple medications several times a day. I've worked directly with veterinarians on how best to give cats medicine. I've done this for both old and young cats. I've partnered with veterinarians to give the best care possible to my foster kittens when they had specific medical needs. I also have special training on working with shy cats and supporting their emotional needs while helping them feel safe. I understand that this can take time and patience and that's not a problem for me. From my experience working at the animal shelter, I am skilled at recognizing and handling illness and emergencies. I have lived with pets my entire life (mostly cats and dogs but also hamsters, fish, and bunnies). I love taking care of all animals and it's one of my biggest passions.
